Even though i press no button the light just goes into flashing mode often. I am wondering do i have a faulty light?

ASFAIK the light should remain on a setting till changed and when switched off then back on to the last used setting. The flashing mode should only be activated on two quick successive presses of the main button, this applies to all light modes. Hope this helps.

are lithium batteries and charger included in box with headlamp

The head torch takes standard disposable batteries, no charger is required. I also own a petzl neo which is rechargeable, for day to day use o prefer the black diamond, it's not as fancy but half the price and is bombproof
