Grundig G8 Traveler II Digital AM/FM/Shortwave Radio with Auto Tuning Storage - Black (NG8B) with Case and Earphones + 4 AA Batteries

I received this Grundig G8 Traveler II digital tuning radio today. I had read most of the reviews on this model before I purchased it. I am very pleased with the quality. The owner manual is complete. Features are clearly shown. Some features I looked up online and this helped with special features not made clear in manual; thereis only so much space to tell everything. Setting up the radio for use was fast, setting time was simple. It displays only in 24 hours format; no option to change to more conventional 12 hour time. This is no problem for me as I prefer 24 to 12 time; it makes for easier understand rather than AM or PM. I tried briefly all the bands including Shortwave bands, both of them. Because of the weather conditions I didn't expect to receive much. The AM band and FM bands worked perfectly and the sound quality is excellent. I will highly recommend this radio to anyone. It does not include a AC adapter but my understanding is these add noise in the form of hum. A 6 volt adapter can be bought anywhere if you want one. I also see that you can buy a long wire antenna for this radio if you desire to.

Got this as a gift for my grandson with the idea it might provide an alternative to the video games he's constantly played. It worked very well - he was fascinated by the shortwave band and has been happily exploring for far-away stations. Yes, he still plays the video games too but I'm hoping I may have opened the window a crack to a wider world for him.

this is the second time i have purchased this radio. i pretty much used my first one i bought at a retail store (at a much higher price) up. i finally dropped it off the back of my pickup truck and had to replace it. new one has a few minor improvements. the earbuds and batteries were a nice bonus.

So far I find this radio a good addition to my collection. Having over 20 shortwave radios I tend to buy ones that catch my eye and have decent reviews. Sound and reception is good and rubberized case helps for slips. Nice size and the time wheel as well as the temperature readout along with the signal strength means there is a little bit for all. Compact in size but not quality. Worth the price.

I NEVER go wrong getting my husband a radio. Amazon has provided most of them. This one is VERY small and occasionally shuts itself off, but the button pushes get it up and running in seconds.

They sent e the wrong Grundig but I never returned it. Works well though and was actually an earlier model that was worth about the same price.

Great radio, battery power lasts more than 2 weeks and I use it 8hrs a day 5 days a week.
