The pin that goes in the floor tends to snap off too easily. I have four of these bolts installed among 2 doors. I end up replacing one of them every couple of years.

This lock is well made, pretty and was easy to install.

Meets my needs exactly

Decent brass casting resulting in a strong and nice looking flush bolt. The bolt slides fairly easily and remains in the extended locked position until you depress thumb slide. I did have an issue with one of the two I recently ordered and installed and I suppose you could consider that an unacceptable 50% failure rate. The fix was so easy, however, I didn't bother returning for replacement. The thumb side is held in place with a threaded post. The threaded post was loose on one of my bolts and caused it to bind. The manufacturer could very easily solve this issue, like I did, by applying some thread-lock adhesive. With that simple addition, I would give five stars for overall rating and ease of installation.

My french door had a broken latch. After doing a little homework, I found that this is the exact replacement. It dropped right in where the old one was, so I didn't have to hack up my door to make it work.On the old one, the bolt had sheared off. Hopefully the new one won't do that. If it holds up a few years (under semi-heavy usage), it'll still have been worth it. The mating door tends to slam into this one, so I didn't want to pick something that seemed too cheaply made.

But, it isn't exactly well-crafted. it gets the job done, but it seems that they were made in a real hurry, so the holes aren't square (for around the latch mechanism), and it doesn't move exactly easily. it wasn't bad to install, and fit exactly in the place of my old one. it looks nice from a distance, but up close, you can tell the quality.Although it is solid brass, and I'm sure it'll work perfectly well for years, I would have appreciated a little better quality of manufacturing. I bought this one over a slightly cheaper option with the hope that it'd be better quality. I'm not sure it was worth it.
