These are the biggest, boldest, best beans for Greek cuisine
I am still looking for a source for Greek "Gigante" beans, the white bean used in many of Greece's finest recipes. These lovely "Corona" beans (and the name is an unhappy coincidence, not their fault!) are a close cousin of Gigante beans, and they work beautifully in my favorite Greek baked bean recipes. If you love Greek cuisine, you should add these delicious, densely-textured beans to your pantry.

These are the best for Greek gigantes.
After soaking, I add a thin, light bacon-flavored tomato sauce and cook them in the oven at 320 degrees (or on high in a crock-pot), they required no attention except an occasional check to ensure there's enough water. If you like a thicker, sauce, take of the lid and let the sauce cook down before serving.

Great Taste
These beans are good with different types of veggies. They do take a while to cook and get the hang of cooking. But when you do they are great.

The beans are great, they have a fantastic buttery flavor and their big bite-size makes all the difference. It's way more fun than eating small beans. But you can get them at Wholefoods store for only $5.49 per lb and no shipping. This is a rip-off price!
