Overall a very good quality, However before Covid I would have sent it back.
I have given only two stars for two reasons.1. The wing nut securing the parallel cutting guide did not hold the guide in place. This appeared to be because the nut thread was cut too short.2. The blade guard did not fully cover the cutting blade. About one tooth at the front was also exposed.I also found fitting the saw blades fiddly, not really a big deal.In normal times I would have sent the saw back, but I was able to bodge a fix for the wing nut problem with a couple of strips of electrical tape to thicken the guide.Otherwise the saw is effective, robust and very good value for the functions it has.I have bought several Tacklife products in the past and not had any quality issues in the past.

Really impressed
I hadn't used a circular saw for 20 years or more, largely because my old Black and Decker was not very good and I got fed up with rough, uneven edges and wasted timber. I only had one job to complete this year, which was to cut up a spare oak dining table to make furniture for my hallway and lounge. Unfortunately I'm now way too old to cut oak with a handsaw, so a circular saw was the only way to go. I just didn't want to spend a fortune on something I might never use again. The Tacklife seemed to fit the bill and it worked far better than I could have hoped. It starts and stops without jerking and it cut through 45mm oak without missing a beat. I didn't try using the laser, although I think it would have worked ok. I preferred to clamp a length of 2" x 1" parallel to the line I wanted to cut and run the saw along it. That way I wouldn't have to worry about poor eyesight and weak wrists allowing the saw to drift off course.I've ended up with two shelves, a coat-rack and a bench for the hallway and a coffee table for the lounge. All done with a £47 circular saw. I suspect it will get a lot more use before it's eventually retired. Magic.(Edit). One big plus, which I forgot about, is that the Tacklife comes with two blades, a rough cut and a smooth cut. Most saws only come with a rough cut blade which is fine if you're cutting sleepers or doing external jobs; but not if your making oak furniture as I was.

Good saw
Having never used or owned a circular saw before I went for one of the cheapest I could find, and I'm pleased I did. I've recently had a new shed and have been turning it into a workshop so I wanted to make myself a bench to fit a vice to. I simply couldn't face cutting thick pieces of wood by hand so I got this. It made the job so easy that I wished I'd bought one years ago. Its simple to use and cuts through wood very easily. The only negative thing I can say about it is that its pretty heavy. I didn't find this a problem but I guess others could if you have a lot of sawing to do. But its also very sturdy which I liked. My bench is now made and I couldn't have, or wouldn't have, done it without this saw. Highly recommended.

Reasonable Budget tool.
This is a relatively good basic saw. Its quality is in keeping with the price. Not great, not bad. Cuts true enough, base plate flimsy and thin, not great quality, but it works. Blades not good, struggled a bit after a couple of cuts. But they did the job I needed them to do, and I deffinately put it through its paces today. 6 sheets of 18mm osb and 3 sheets of 18mm MDF. Dust extraction is poor. More dust gathered in front of my cut than anywhere else. Kept having to stop and clear a path so I could see where I was cutting. Laser is clear and one of the best I have seen in a saw, runs slightly to the side of the cut rather than on it, so slightly off alignment, but I soon worked that out and easy to adjust to it.Deffinately not the worst saw I've bought. It did exactly what I needed to on my emergency budget in a hurry.

New saw
The saw proved easier to use than anticipated after reading all the safety and operating instructions. The machine worked perfectly an did a good job. Unfortunately there weren't instructions on how to attach or change the blade. This requires a "C" tool to lock the motor whilst the retaining bolt is unscrewed or tightened up. It's a good job I had one already as there wasn't one included in the box, although there was an allen key.

Good circular saw for the price, shame about the warranty spam.
The product feels well put together. There are no instructions on changing the blade, but I worked out where the blade-lock button was eventually. All buttons etc are at least orange which makes them easy to find. The laser line isn't perfectly aligned with the blade (i didn't expect it to be) but is still good enough to work with when used with the grove on the front of the footplate.Shame that after registering for the warranty the amount of spam in my inbox has quadrupled. I've given my email to no-one else recently, so I'm sure it's this manufacturer who has sold it.

Base plate issues
For what I paid especially on a lightening deal this was good value. However quality and design a problem. Screws beneath the base plate had burrs from when tightened in assembly. One had sharp edges that extended above the plate surface, The plate itself was not exactly flat and very springy, something experienced when returning back onto the screw stop for a square cut. Fabrication connected with the plate for angle adjustment seemed off adding to the problem. The laser guide was misaligned to the notch in the plate. One of the wing bolts badly made. This saw would have been better off with a steel base plate manufactured to be more rigid and flatter. If you are looking for a saw for general work where accuracy is not essential then this unit is an efficient choice but for more particular work you will need to pay more.

A bit tacky
The saw does the job but as the brand name suggests it's a bit tacky. It's a long while since I have seen a plug with a screwdown cable grip rather than a moulded one. The bits of plastic and wing nuts came loose when I started to use the saw. The instructions are in poor English. There are no instruction diagrams, only labelled photos.
