Good for yoga
Have just ordered these second knee straps for a second time. I had a partial knee replacement due to arthritis and so have tried tons of knee braces and patella straps. This is my fave, altho it is not perfect, it tends to shift when you wear it. I like the color (nude for caucasian race) and lack of giant logo label. Relatively small and thin size means that it can be worn under pants, even leggings, without much noticeable bulk. The best feature is a small, airfilled insert that is situated under the knee cap; not only does it keep your knee cap in place, it provides a cushion for kneeling. If you take yoga you will be able to kneel on the floor during the floor asanas and not grimace in pain. Ditto for housework when you have to kneel to clean something low. I don't think I would use it for gardening or another task where you kneel for long periods, but for a quick kneel this has you covered. I also use a gel filled wrist strap to kneel on during yoga which is compact and easily moved about. For real relief of knee pain, consider buying a TENS machine availble here on Amazon for about $50 (or less). With these two products combined I was able to decrease my arthritic knee pain by about 60% before my knee replacement with no drugs or painkillers. This is money very well spent if you suffer from chronic pain.

Instructions???????????
Does this product come with instructions? I received none. It seems like I should be told how tight to wear it; exactly where to wear it; and other do's and don't's, warnings, etc.Update on June 22, 2014. OK, I tried to wear it. It is too wide. It really chafed the back of my knee when I tried to sit or bend my leg. I put it in the Goodwill bag with the box that it came in. I have since purchased the equivalent product from Ace. It is perfect--not too wide.

I purchased this for my daughter who is a dancer and she has been having issues with her knee specifically the patella. We gave this one a try and she liked it. It fit perfectly and has a nice comfort gel cushion that fits right on the patella. She also wanted this one because it's not black but a nice skin color. She likes that it doesn't slip around because of the strap which she can adjust. She only wears it for a couple of hours at a time while she's at home relaxing. She did not wear it during her dance classes.

Fantastic strap--the best of 10 I have tried
I have been plagued with patellar tendonitis for about two years. I have done every exercise in the book and tried almost every strap on the market. The straps worked, but often I would have to stop and reposition them as my knee would start to hurt mid power walk. I just got back from a morning walking all over Beacon Hill in Boston (emphasis on "hill"). I walked fast about six miles around Boston and never felt my knee. And, never had to reposition the strap. I'm not quite sure what others are needing in terms of directions--you place the pad with the lettering facing the correct direction and secure the larger strap. Then you wrap the second strap around--you pull it to the degree you feel is comfortable--this will require some trial and error.I am a power walker and I am an avid photographer who has to squat down a lot for my photography--this strap is a miracle and I am buying a second one today.

Nice design, but didn't help much
I have knee arthritis, and have tried everything short of knee replacement for pain relief. In an effort to continue my favorite activities (dancing and cycling), I decided to order several knee braces and test them out. Although most helped, some gave more support than others, and were more comfortable to wear. Here is a summary of my findings:Futuro Sport Moisture Control Knee Support – good support, but hot, sweaty, and not very comfortable. Restricted movement. The knee cutout didn’t fit around my kneecap very well. Big, black, and ugly. Why do manufacturers think we need to advertise that we are wearing a brace?Futuro Stablizing Knee Support – a simple elastic sleeve. At least this one was beige, but still hot and restricted movement some. Good support.Cho-Pat Dual Action Knee Strap – the double knee strap seems to provide very good support, but when you bend your knee, the edges dig in to your skin. Very uncomfortable, restricted movement significantly. Worst of all, the prickly side of the velcro faces out and gets stuck on your clothing or scratches your other leg.Bracoo Knee Strap – simple but effective – good support and comfortable to wear. Could be worn above or below the knee – two of these would mimic the Cho-Pat but be far more comfortable, without restricting movement – although it might not be big enough if your leg muscles are large above the knee.Neo G Medical Grade VCS Jumpers Knee Patella Band Strap – The silicone pad on this provided very good support on either side of the patella to help stablize it. Good comfort and mobility. Only gripes – it was not beige, and when worn on the left knee, the velcro strap must go on the inside, where it can get knocked loose by your right leg brushing against it.Futuro Sport Adjustable Knee Strap – Very comfortable. The molded padding provides some lateral support, but not quite as much as the Neo G.Jumper’s Patellar Tendon Strap with Silicone Pad by Oppo Medical – Very comfortable, but only places pressure on the center of the patella, not the sides – and therefore did little to help me. Might be helpful for other conditions. Very unobtrusive. My choice? For workouts and biking, Neo G below and Bracoo above the knee. For dancing – Neo G – unless I’m wearing pantyhose, in which case either of the Futuros would be less likely to snag. For everyday wear – the Futuro knee strap – A little less support but a lot more comfort.

Three Stars
I liked the skin tone color option, but I found the strap uncomfortable.
