FWIW, I really like this drive better compared to my other 2, an LG and another Pioneer that was slightly less money. Faster and just ‘feels’ better quality than the other 2. I would buy again. Curious to try the next Pioneer model up…

This is only a rewriter/burner and not a player. I was looking for a Blu-Ray player/Re-writer. Don't know if they even make them. I finally broke down and bought the roxio dvd burner software, but cannot figure out the blu-ray part of it. Ii is a nice unit for copying CD or DVD with the software, don't get your hopes up for the blu-ray portion re-writing or playing. If you can buy this unit with the software I would go that way if I had it to do again

My old DVD-Rom Drive was not working. So, I decided to upgrade to a Blu-Ray player. It works great. I'm glad I made the purchase.

I installed this and Windows 10 loaded only the generic CD ROM driver. It would not recognize Blu-Ray writeable discs (Verbatim). I looked at Pioneer's US and Japanese websites for drivers, firmware, or anything -- nothing for BDR-212DBK. I searched all over the web and found no firmware updates or drivers for this model. I did find firmware for lots of other Pioneer BDR's but not this one and those updates would not apply to this (I tried). This drive is useless and I have to order a different one instead, probably LG.

Was DOA when I recieved it. After pluging in power and data cable unit would not show any indication that it working. Tray would not open. No light lit on front of unit when unit powered up. Not working at all.

per il momento funziona bene per i DVD , non l'ho provato per i BD ma non penso che dia problemi.
