"Better to see you with......"
After our 6 year old kitty had a severe case of herpes of the one eye the Vet recommended that we give him Lysine chews. The first bag we bought was at a local chain pet store, and found it to be pricey, however we needed it right away and bought it. Then I checked on Amazon.Com to find the exact same bag for much less of the price. Would have bought them no matter what the price however saving dollars helps. These L-lysine chews literally save my kitty's eyesite. The product is excellent, easy to administer, taste seems to be appealing to our Kitty, the price is right, and only took 3 days to receive. Highly recomend this product!

health supplement for cats
This product was prescribed by our Vet for our 8 year old cat that has allergies and "cat herpes". We adopted her from a cat shelter and so we have no idea what her "other life" was like. This supplement seems to help with the herpes, doesn't seem to do anything for the allergies. She is a picky eater so was not sure if she would eat the chews, but once I cut them into 4 pieces and added them to her dry food, she ate them fine. The shipping was as promised and the delivery as stated. We'll be ordering more since it is much less expensive through Amazon than at the Vet or Pet store.

Waste of money
When I first opened the package all four cats wanted these, and I thought I had a good alternative to another brand we used to use but which the cats stopped liking. Unfortunately, it seems once these are opened, no matter how well you reseal the bag, they quickly become like rocks and none of the cats wanted them after that first time. And yes, the bag was sealed completely airtight, and furthermore placed inside a sealed plastic container (to keep the cats from tearing open the bag and helping themselves) and they still got hard as gravel in just a day or two. We now have almost a full bag that will have to go in the trash.

Cat wouldn't eat them, didn't say why!
My cat stopped eating her usual lysine treats so I tried some different options. I'd read other reviews that these treats get hard really quickly & thought I'd just keep up on sealing them in a baggie and we'd be fine. I was surprised, though, by how hard they got while sitting out waiting for the cat to eat them. I did break them up into small pieces, which is usual for the bigger lysine treats, but Ginger wouldn't touch them. She is used to the lysine treats being somewhat chewy, so I don't know if that was the issue or if it's just her mood recently or if she didn't like the taste. I ended up just throwing the rest of these away, I have other options that she'd at least eat part of.

I break them into 4 pieces she can accommodate better. Compared to other brands we've used
The shape and size of the chews seem to be made to appeal to humans, not cats. Sadly, the pieces are too big for my small mouthed cat to get into her mouth and too small for her too get a grip on to break into smaller pieces herself. So, I break them into 4 pieces she can accommodate better. Compared to other brands we've used, these do not crumble at the bottom of the bag and are not as greasy. But, I'm not seeing the same positive results in regards to Mari's weepy eye using this product as I did with other brands, so I'm on the fence about whether or not to order these again. They're cheaper than many others, so that may be a tipping point.

Super good supplement!
I have used these as treats for a year. My Persian has herpes flair ups now and then. She's not had one since I started her on these.Very, very good product. And half the price of Petco.

It works!
My cat had ocular herpes since I got him last Aug. from a shelter. It has cleared up since I've been giving him on chew daily. He didn't like them at first. I tried to throw them as I do his treats but wouldn't eat them. What I do is hide it in his dry food daily. I break them into four pieces & hide it inside. He's a good eater, so I know he's absorbing them every day.
