Image is of my original disc drive. Upon removing the original disc drive and comparing the old (2018 build) to the new disc drive (2014 build). I can say they were identical in every way but when they were built. I elected to transfer the entire optical drive unit into the original case, as it had the seals adheared to the case and lid. Then desoldered the power and ground wires off of the original board and soldered to the new optical drive, as I'm told the optical drive board is paired to the Xbox motherboard. Reassembled everything and then function checked. The disc drive reads my game disc and DVDs. The drive is quiet/normal as compared to the original and so I am happy.As a side note, as mentioned previously, the new replacement disc drive was built in 2014. During the transfer of the components the unit appeared to me to be clean and never used, screws looked untampered as well as everything else about it, disc rollers, gears, pulleys, bands, etc. Despite being old, I'd say this was a "New, Old stock".

Works as described

I got a bad drive. Put in the sister board YouTube direction easy no problem. Gave my Xbox one x the clear cache boot up. Restart again disc does not go in hit reject comes out push then goes in it sound like a tank loading driving down the road. My what did you sell me junk.

EDIT! So i have to leave a disk in the drive even if i have it turned off. It will wake the system up and start just constantly wanting to take a disk in.So this drive was easy to swap daughter boards from my old drive and install in my One X. Fixed issues I had with some games not even being recognized at all.Main issue is it is very loud when loading and ejecting disks. This isn't too hateful, but the weird issue seems to be when there is no disk in the drive. Without a disk in the drive, about every 5 minutes the drive starts making the sound and trying to either take in or eject a disk that is not there. Very strange.I have to leave a movie or game in it, and it will not do this.

Works almost exactly as intended. I soldered in my old blu ray motherboard and it does read xbox 360 and one games. A few things to note is that its not the easiest installation for a beginner and requires soldering skills if you want it to read games. Also it is very noisy when a disc is not in the drive, and for some reason the xbox turns on by itself when a disc isnt in the drive. But as long as it has a disc in it, it works just like it did before.

This drive worked exactly as it was supposed to. I used it to replace an Xbox One S DVD drive with no issues. I just changed over the PCB board from the old drive to the new one and it worked perfectly. You could also use the good parts from this drive and swap them to the old drive without swapping out the PCB if you preferred to do it that way. But the transaction was easy and the seller is great. I'm a very satisfied customer and would recommend the seller.

This drive was not even worth the installment, I ordered a first one to replace the original drive. As soon as I installed it, I heard loud gears coming from the drive when you put a disc in. When I ejected the disc, a min later the drive sounded like it was searching for a disc or it kept thinking a disc was being inserted. It kept that up every min that there was no disc being inserted, and even when I had shut the system down... The Xbox would just turn itself back on and make the grinding gear sounds and thinking that there was a disc being loaded into it. Thank God I purchased a protection warranty. cause you never know with these drives. I returned the 1st and exchanged it with a 2nd one Amazon shipped to me and it even does the same thing as the first one.So as a warning, this drove me nuts listening to that sound when I was just watching Netflix, so if you don't mind having a disc in your system at all times and hearing a grinding noise coming from the gears then go ahead and buy this drive. I am sending the second one back, and won't be getting a third one..

Good deal and works well, a “bit noisy” opening/Closing but plays Blu-ray and my games good “2days tested so far”No other issues that I’ve noticed...Not hard to switch the boards out.Time will tell the durability, but my Xbox is happy so far. I’d say 4.8 out of 5 for the whole deal, I’d buy again from seller with no Doubt of money being well spent.
