Great little bike, great customer service
We're not a die-hard biking family - we all ride for fun, but at leisurely paces. No mountain biking/road race fanatics here. So I approached the idea of spending over $200 (heck, over $100) on a 16" bike with a whole lot of skepticism...until I borrowed a lightweight, freewheel 12" bike from a friend (who is a mountain biking fanatic) and my 3 year old daughter was riding it completely on her own three 10-minute sessions later. This 16" bike is a great balance of nice hardware and reasonable cost for what you get (the rear freewheel with handbrakes, the frame light enough for a preschooler to pick up). My daughter is now three and a half, and is just now big enough to ride this. She's having a great time with it and likely will for a couple of years. Worth it, and I expect to be able to hand this down once she outgrows it.Assembly was straightforward, although the instructions are pretty thin. I did have to adjust the front brake to allow the wheel to spin freely. No instructions for assembly of the plastic belt (chain) guard, but I figured it out.Update: We've gone on several rides on this now, and her comfort with the bike keeps growing. She can both lift it over a curb and ride it off a curb unassisted, and she's now fast enough that I have to run to keep up with her (plus? Minus? YOU DECIDE!). She's eager to ride her "silver bike" and hops back on after the occasional fall. Great bike.2nd update: We lost one of the nuts and bolts from the front wheel on a ride. Belsize customer service was excellent - they responded promptly, replaced the missing parts for the cost of shipping, and were all around very easy to deal with.

The kid is obsessed
I had a 4 yr old child that balanced biked like a pro. We decided he was ready to use a pedal bike, so we bought a cheap used kids bike.He hated it. It had a fairly large reach for a 16 inch bike, but the biggest hindrance was the roughly 22 lbs that it weighed and chain gearing. He couldn’t produce enough torque to accelerate from a stop except for slight downhills. After several attempts to transition him, we splurged on this A11N belsize as a middle ground between the cheaper/heavier BMX style bikes and a decked out 500 dollar high end bike. After getting the bike assembled (fairly easy), the kid was super excited and wanted to ride it. Within 10 minutes, he is pedaling by himself around the nearby undulating parking lot with no assistance. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that the bike weighs 15 lbs or less, or that the belt drive gearing is particularly “geared” for smaller children, but it’s become the talk of the neighborhood and our kids favorite thing to do all day.Build quality is solid. Support was solid (issue with a tire tube not staying inflated upon unboxing). If you have a little extra money and want to promote pedal biking without training wheels or a gear brake, I highly recommend.

Great bike! Worth every dollar
I was a bit hesitant to buy an expensive bike for my son in case he didn’t ride it. He loved it. He was eager to ride it as soon as it was assembled. Because it is light weight and the right size, he was able quickly learn how to ride it.

Should come with a backward/forward adjustable seat and pedals
At this price point the bike should be coming with a seat/saddle that allows forward/backward movement and better pedals. This was for a 42” tall boy and the height of the bike at the lowest seat position allows him reach the floor just a bit passed his tip-toes, which is fine. However, since the seat can’t be moved back, the boy sits too far front making his feet also rest too far front on the pedals, which then causes his feet to constantly slip off the pedals. The pedals also don’t have much grip on them — a better design with more grip wouldn’t have caused more I believe. It’s a great bike and very lightweight, which was exactly what I was looking for since the kid is on the lower percentile in height/weight, but at this price point they should’ve thought better of the seat design and the pedals. The solution would be to buy a new seat with hardware that allows for backward repositioning, but because of how the tube is designed, a new seat will rest higher on the tube than the seat the bike comes with. This isn’t ideal because the boy was already almost on his tip-toes with the factory seat.

Silent and very lightweight, incredible value!
The media could not be loaded. I did quite a bit of research on children's bikes before ultimately landing on this one. The price of this bike is much lower than any of the name brand bikes with the same components. Our freshly 4 year old went straight from his Strider to this thing and never needed training wheels. This bike has a lot going for it in addition to the price, the whole thing weighs much less than most other children's bikes, it has silent operation due to the belt drive, and the geometry and gearing are pretty dialed in for kids that want to push the pace a bit more. For convenience, we noticed there is a molded hand grip in the bottom of the back of the seat for adults to help the kid get started the first few times. We did have a minor issue with the rear hub but the seller quickly resolved the problem and we are fully back in business! So it is an incredible product for the money, and great customer service. Now I can't wait to buy my son the 20" version of this bike next year and hand this one down to his younger brother!
