Seal was not fitted properly
The seal was not beveled/form fitted. Hence, I had to use the old seal. Wouldn't hurt to put a gasket in with it too.

Work great so far
I've had a lot of problems with aftermarket thermostats so I bought this GM one. It works perfect so far. I've got about 3000 miles on it. I replaced an unknown brand aftermarket one that the previous owner installed. It was too cold but was working.
