Cold Steel Recon 1 Clip Point 50/50 Edge 27TLCCH

About six months ago I bought a Benchmade mini griptillian. Well after recently struggling to slice open a couple of envelopes, I did my research and ordered the Recon. Right out of the box, it’s the sharpest knife I’ve ever owned. Wish I could post a video showing it cutting through the lenght of a piece of paper with ease, while my old Benchmade just folds the edge of the paper over.Don’t let the fact that this knife is made in Taiwan stop you from ordering. It’s very high quality and when opened it locks up like a bank vault. Don’t know if the griptillan is made in the U.S. but two month into carrying it the thumb stud fell off and they had to send me a replacement because they didn’t use locktight during it’s assembly.Goes without saying that I dropped the Benchmade in the trash. Hope this reveiw was helpfull.

The knife itself is okay I was disappointed in the quick open mechanism. Very disappointed, I used to have what I thought was the same knife but unfortunately had lost it. So I bought this replacement and a few months after buying I look down and notice a portion of the blade at the front of the serrations has broken out. Now I dont use my knife for prying or anything other than cutting rope or tape on packages. The quality of these knives has gone way down.

I'm not going to try to talk about EDC (Every Day Carry) and why you need this knife. Yes, it is considered to be a "tactical folder", however, I use this knife for everything from opening boxes to cutting rope. Trust the Triad Lock as it is solidly built and IT WILL save your fingers. I like the grip of the handle as reminds me of sandstone in my hand and it doesn't slip when wet. Sharpens quickly and easily and retains an edge after semi-heavy usage. If you do get this, I would HIGHLY recommend you adjust the clip as Cold Steel folders are notorious for being tight and it will tear up your pants pockets.

I have bought 3 in 15yrs. I love this knife. I lost my first one, gave the second one to my daughter, am carrying the 3rd. This knife will outlast you. It is bulky but can do anything you need and take any punishment you throw at it.

Great knife. Very sharp, light and thin. Stays sharp and, now the black does not come off the new blade material and coating. Between my sons and myself, we have 4 of these and we all love them!

Very stiff for the price also handle is uncomfortable. Was expecting better. Didn’t have time to return as it was a xmas gift

Happy so far. Haven't had it long, but it's seems strong. And its lighter than I thought it would be.
