Super Angel Pro Stainless Steel Juicer

I bought this juicer because I am on Gerson Therapy and I need a good juicer that can do an excellent job on the green juice and this juicer didn't disappoint me. Norwalk or Pure juicers are over $2,500 and I am sure they are good. But my cancer friends had referred me to use Super Angel Pro which both of them have used for over two years under Gerson Therapy and one turned a stage 3 breast cancer to stage 0, the other turned a state 1 breast cancer to stage 0. Very convincing evidence! So I bought this juicer.I have been using Breville for years and I make fresh juice all the time. I really don't believe much about this Angel juicer and the price makes me thick twice but I gave it a try. I have to say this juicer surprised me the first day I used it. This juicer arrived in the afternoon and I made one 8-oz Gerson green juicer in the evening. The 2nd day I woke up, I couldn't believe what I found --- the lump in my breast shrank significantly by 1/3 at least! I knew it because I touched my lump every day and I knew the size. And it shrank! OMG! What a big surprise! I kept making Greson green juice the following day and the day after that... By the 3rd day, I couldn't find the lump on my breast at all. By the 5th day, the lump area is totally flat. What a big happy surprise! I was soooo thrilled. I packed my Breville and started using Angel every day under Gerson Therapy (my protocol is 12 juices a day.) I felt stronger and healthier every day and my family confirmed that too. It’s worth every cent I paid for it!I now know when I used Breville, I only got the water portion out of the veggies. But Angel gets the "nutrition" out of the veggies for me. Angel is especially good for green leafy veggies like lettuce, chard, endive, purple cabbage, beet tops, etc. It's also good for carrot and apple. My friend did a test on Angel and Pure and found that Pure gets 10% more juice but it's also a lot more expensive. You can pay extra to get a wet mash to filter for wet fruit but that’s not my concern.As for the cleaning, I think it's easier to clean an Angel than Breville. I can't comment on other similar juicers like Omega or Champion that costs around $350 because I don’t have them. But I can say these juicers are cheaper because they use plastic parts. I don't want plastic parts in my juicer because plastic can harm the quality of my juice. Angel is entirely built on food-grade stainless steel and it’s felt by its weight!After using Angel Juicer for two months without any problems, I am buying 2nd Angel to put it at work so I can have fresh green juice during work hours. If you think it’s expensive, it really is. But I’d rather use the money to pay a good juicer which gives me good nutrition than pay the medical bills.

I owned the Super Angel 5500 which this newer model replaces. It worked well but it was a bit slow due to the small size of the feeding tube but this is pretty typical on all horizontal slow juicers. I was a bit concerned that the twin SS augers did not seem to have a buffer between them to ensure no metal particulates end up in the juice. The Greenstar (5000) has this feature for this very reason. But then the Greenstar also uses some other plastic parts which I'm not crazy about. I guess you have to risk your toxins: neuron-disrupting heavy metals vs hormone-disrupting plasticizers. ARGH!The manufacturer no longer makes the 5500 model and has made some nice improvements to the new PRO model, such as:Anti-jamming system by self-adjusting speed control when overloadingAutomatic reverse function when jammingAutomatic cooling system when overheating inside the juicerAutomatic self-controlling motor thermal sensorNewly designed main control boardThe reverse function to clear jams and the self-adjusting speed control when overloading were badly needed.But the price for this juicer is crazy expensive. It has increased 60% in 7 years vs the Greenstar which has only increased by 10%.The Greenstar 5000 model runs $550 vs $1400 for the Super Angel as of this review date. Someone said in a review they paid $800 for the Super Angel in 2008. I would easily pay an extra $300 for this model over the Greenstar today, but after having the Super Angel I just don't see how they can justify nearly 3x the price. It's not even high grade SS. They sell a "surgical" grade on their website for about $500 more. (The higher grade is less likely to leach nickel or chromium into the juice, hence why they use this grade for temporary joint implants). When I purchased my Super Angel, the original description page said it had the upgraded surgical stainless steel augers, which it did not. I ended up sending the juicer back.The purpose of this review is to also let shoppers know you can get this model directly from the manufacturer for $1,220.00 (vs $1400 here) with free shipping, same warranty and free book (The Juicing Bible) but the manufacturer also includes a Premium Brush and free glass Pyrex Cup. I have deducted two stars for the following reasons: -1 star due to the high price of this juicer and the fact that there is no buffer between the augers to prevent the possibility of metal particles, and another star deducted due to the manufacturer's lack-luster history. This same manufacturer sold this juicer in Europe and abruptly declared bankruptcy leaving the 10 year warranties worthless. They later began selling these juicers in the US. I read a couple of US reviews where the owners gave up trying to get a warrantied part replaced and ended up having to purchased the new parts themselves. It might be worth checking out Discount Juicers youtube review on the Super Angel which they sold at one point, but dropped due to warranty or customer support issues.Last I checked, Super Angle's headquarters was in CA, but the juicer is still made in Korea which is where they are also from so there can be a bit of a language barrier if you ever manage to get someone on the phone. (I did once and was promised a return phone call when the person who could answer questions returned from out of town. The return call call never came.) I have contacted their CA office multiple times via email and phone and have never been able to get my simple questions answered -- basically, they do not offer CS. This makes it very dicey buying directly from them... if you get a lemon there is a high probability that you will never get it replaced. At least Amazon offers a 30 day A-Z guarantee - but you'll have to decide if it's worth an extra $200.10-2015 update: The manufacturer's website shows an increase to $1290, that’s nearly a 6% increase this year alone.The price today (Sold by TheArtOfShopping for $1291 w/shipping) now matches the sellers website price. I you’re going to buy it you might as well get it here at the matching price since you’ll get Amazon’s guarantee. The Amazon A-Z guarantee applies within 30 days with free returns (no restocking fees or return shipping charges) if the item is defective or just doesn't meet your expectations based on the description page. (IE: select 'Different from Website description'.) I had an issue with a seller only 2 or 3 times in 15 years and in each case Amazon immediately credited me the return charges once I called and complained. But this did not happen without a lot of time wasted on messages back and forth with the seller.There are several sellers on Amazon so be sure to check the price - they're listed as high as $1700-2000. But note this juicer is no longer being sold through Amazon Prime (shipped directly by Amazon) which is a disappointment because this means if you have a problem with the juicer you might have to put up a fight to get the seller to take it back without charging return shipping and/or a restocking fee. One reviewer of a Greenstar complained the seller charged them $100 to take it back. They didn't say who the seller was, which is important because some sellers are better than others, so you might want to check the seller ratings also before you buy.I would upgrade my review to 4 stars if the manufacturer got their act together regarding customer service. This is a deal killer for a lot of us.And I would upgrade this review to 5 stars if the manufacturer and sellers sold this for a more reasonable price that was more in line with the competition (maybe $800-850). Besides Greenstar, Omega also now offers a stainless steel twin gear juicer that runs around $500 with a 15 year warranty. Unfortunately, like Greenstar, it has other plastic parts. But the Super Angle uses mid-grade SS at best, so there is no reason why it should be 2-1/2 times the price of these other more reputable manufacturers.Buying the right juicer is a big decision for a lot of us. For household use this juicer is OK to clean. If it were for a commercial establishment, it needs to be cleaned after each pressing.... and would take much time.

This is a purchase I’m very happy with. I’m on day 21 of a juice fast and the Angel is a life saver. I highly recommend it.

Wow! We love this juicer! Worth every penny

It will change your life. My entire life is about juicing now. I buy cart loads of organic veggies and fruits every week and I love every single drop of juice they make. I never used to eat any veggies. My energy is coming back. I've lost a ton of weight (without any exercising, just too busy). My skin looks great, and I feel 10 years younger. It was worth every penny. Cutting up the fruits and veggies to make fresh juice is the favorite part of my day (get a thick organic cutting board, an 18/10 steel knife, and some cushioned mats for your feet). If your juicer is not super easy to clean, like this one, it will be an uphill battle with every juice and eventually you'll probably stop juicing. Cleaning its high quality pieces is fun, quick, and easy. I've being using it 1-3x a day for over 6 months and I bought one for my brother's family. My food bill has gone way down. I'm never hungry, and my mood is super tranquil. I can't say enough about this juicer.There is something special about this juicer that is unlike any other. Its patented process breaks down the cell wall of the plants and releases its pure nutrients. It's like drinking liquid light. It feels wonderful to connect with the plants and to get their healing energy. So grateful! I am not being paid for this review in any way!
