Ultra Dual Drive Luxe 256GB, USB-C+USB-A, Up to 150MB/s Read Speeds

Picked this up on offer and really happy with it for the price. It’s smaller than I expected when it arrived — more compact than the pictures suggest — but that’s not a bad thing, it’s easy to carry around and barely noticeable on a keyring or in a pocket. The reversible Type-C and Type-A connectors are genuinely handy for moving files between my phone, tablet and laptop without needing an adapter. Build quality feels solid too, all metal casing. One thing to note: it does get a bit warm during longer transfers, but it’s never been an issue or affected performance for me — just something to be aware of. Overall, great value for money especially if you catch it on offer. Recommended.

I needed a USB-C flash drive for my Quest 3 VR headset to store my movies, and the Sandisk USB-C Flash Drive ticked all my boxes. I opted for the 256GB version in a gold finish, and I'm glad I did. This is one solid, high-quality, metal USB-C flash drive. After it arrived, I immediately formatted it to exFAT and loaded it with 3D movies for VR use. The average transfer speed ranged from 70MBps to 230MBps. When I connected it to my Quest 3, the flash drive was immediately recognized by the SkyBox VR player (note: the Bigscreen Beta doesn't support flash drives yet). Note for all Quest 3 users: You need USB-C 3.2 to be recognized by your VR headset and SkyBox VR player. I also tested this USB-C flash drive with Samsung mobile phones running Android, and the connection was immediate. This drive can also be used as a backup for your gallery and other files. My only complaint is that, due to its small size and full metal body, this thing gets very hot! So be aware of that. Otherwise, I'm giving it 5 stars because it is solidly built and looks more expensive than what I paid for it.

I needed a USB drive for my pc which could has USB and USB-C since not every device has USB these days. I bought the 128GB version and It's had about a week of use now. I really enjoy the build quality as its made of very durable and high-quality metal. The speeds are very solid with it's peak being around 140-50ish MB/s. I only have 2 complaints. Firstly when using it, it can get VERY hot as I think that it's metal shell is used as it's heatsink, it doesn't get hot enough to burn your hand but enough to give you a bit of a shock. My second complaint is about compatibility, for some reason it refuses to fit into my S22 Ultra. I have tried it with other phones and it works perfectly, but it just won't fit in my S22 Ultra. In conclusion I think this drive is worth getting epically if you need the USB to USB-C compatibility. Thanks for reading, hope you have a great day :)

What an awesome little flash drive. I am very picky when it comes ro tech but this is so much smaller and fancier than I thought it would be. Absolute bargain for it's ability and capacity. Will only be buying these from now.

I use this with my Meta Quest 3 and it has worked very well for transferring and accessing files. The USB-C connection plugs directly into the headset, while the standard USB connection makes it easy to move files to and from a computer. Transfer speeds have been good, and the metal casing feels sturdy without making the drive unnecessarily bulky. A convenient dual-connector memory stick for custom content, sideloading and general file storage.

Everyone was buying the plastic version which was great during Prime as I got the Luxe for even cheaper. Less than €40.00 😀 It doesn't look gold. It looks like brass color (great) it will outlast the plastic version forever (great). People say it gets hot. Yes but here's why. It's basically a metal heat sink wrapped around the memory chip. It dissipates the heat that would otherwise impact read/write speeds. The plastic one can't. As it is plastic. The USBA side on the plastic one is micro thin so it will eventually crack. The Luxe is solid metal so it won't. It is also very premium looking as opposed to a flimsy little bit of plastic. Luxe has a bit more weight to it (great) and it works with my ipad, my Iphone 17, my Dell XPS, my MacBook pro M4 and my Nvidia shield. One tiny negative is it should come with a dust cover for the inputs as one side will be exposed to dust and lint etc and it should come with a nice SanDisk lanyard. It doesn't. So far I moved 4gb off my iphone in less than four minutes using it. Watched movies in it on my ipad and used it on my windows laptop and on the MacBook. Very very happy 😀

Update: Compared to the four SanDisk Ultra USB A/C drives I have of the older style (plastic housing with the push and slide a button to reveal the A or C part function rather than the swivel this has), of which half of them are no longer functional and lost all my data, this one at least hasn't failed (yet). That and the premium aesthetic of it are about the only positive things I have to say about it though. It is incomprehensibly slow. I think the USB 2.0 flash drive I had fifteen years ago performed faster than this. It gets absolutely scalding hot pretty much immediately after plugging it in, looking inside a folder of what I'd previously managed to somehow transfer to the drive takes literally a minute or longer to load the contents, and just now I tried copying six files totalling 14GB across to it to transfer from one laptop to another - it spent MINUTES on the "preparing to copy" stage, then eventually got to 67.1MB copied, didn't progress any further, and was still estimating the time remaining. I then decided to just use AirDrop for the files instead, which got the job done in seven or eight minutes, while this SanDisk drive was still processing the cancel request... I'm now trying to run the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test on it while writing this review, which is stuck and now frozen with the write needle displaying a whopping 13.8MB/s. Quite how SanDisk can claim this is capable of up to 400MB/s is beyond me, it is without a doubt the worst performing flash drive I have ever owned. Original review: Bought it a little over a year so as to conveniently transfer things between my phone and laptop, so it hasn't been used or plugged in much, probably at most twenty hours of total usage. Much like my other SanDisk flash drives, it's absolutely terrible. Takes forever to mount, takes forever to unmount, takes forever to load what's on it in Finder, takes forever to open anything stored on it, certainly wouldn't trust it with any data that matters because it appears to be so horribly unreliable. Absolute waste of money and the last straw for me with SanDisk, I'll be looking into other manufacturers for flash storage from now on.

I purchased the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe specifically to use with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. On paper, this is the perfect solution for offloading large photos and videos, and the all-metal design feels very premium and durable. However, the user experience has been disappointing. I downloaded the official SanDisk app as instructed, but the drive simply is not recognized. No matter how many times I reconnect it or restart the app, it fails to function. What I’ve noticed: • Build: The swivel design and metal casing are excellent. • Software: The official app seems poorly optimized for the latest iOS/iPhone 15 hardware. • Workaround: Interestingly, I can sometimes see the drive through the native iOS "Files" app, but the dedicated SanDisk software—which is supposed to manage backups—is completely unresponsive for me. It’s a beautiful piece of hardware, but if the software doesn't work, the "Luxe" experience isn't worth much. I hope SanDisk releases a firmware or app update soon to fix these connectivity issues. A quick tip for you: Since you have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, you actually don't need the SanDisk app for basic file transfers. Apple’s native Files app (the blue folder icon) is much more stable. 1. Plug the drive into your iPhone. 2. Open the Files app. 3. Tap Browse at the bottom right. 4. Look under Locations—your SanDisk drive should appear there.

Compré este pendrive porque necesitaba una forma más sencilla de mover archivos entre distintos dispositivos, especialmente entre móviles, ordenadores y tablets. Después de usarlo, la verdad es que me parece un dispositivo increíblemente práctico. USB-C y USB-A en el mismo dispositivo Para mí, este es su gran punto fuerte. Tener en el mismo pendrive conexión USB-C y USB-A facilita muchísimo las cosas. Antes muchas veces necesitaba usar un dispositivo intermedio, un adaptador o pasar primero los archivos a otro equipo. Con este pendrive puedo extraer o mover archivos directamente desde el móvil y luego conectarlo al ordenador sin mayor problema. Velocidad de transferencia La velocidad me ha parecido muy buena para el uso que le doy. Por ejemplo, un vídeo de unos 8 GB suele tardar aproximadamente 5 minutos en transferirse, lo cual me parece más que correcto. No lo compararía con un SSD externo, pero como pendrive compacto y versátil cumple muy bien. Uso real Me resulta especialmente útil cuando voy a eventos, tengo que rescatar vídeos o fotos desde un móvil, o quiero pasar archivos grandes sin depender de la nube, del correo o de cables adicionales. Es pequeño, fácil de llevar y resuelve un problema muy concreto. Diseño y comodidad El diseño giratorio también me parece práctico, porque protege los conectores y permite cambiar de USB-C a USB-A de forma rápida. Es de esos accesorios pequeños que terminás usando mucho más de lo que pensabas. Conclusión Muy satisfecho con la compra. Es rápido, cómodo, compacto y muy útil si trabajás con varios dispositivos. Para pasar fotos, vídeos o documentos entre móvil, tablet y ordenador me parece una solución excelente. No le encuentro grandes puntos negativos para el uso que le doy. Cinco estrellas.

Jag har en Xiaomi 11T mobiltelefon med över 100 appar och behov av att kunna kopiera in en stor musikfil på ca 20 GB. Den nya trenden hos nya Androidtelefoner är att ta bort minneskortplatsen, vilket försvårar arbetet. Musikfilen är sparad i min PC via överföringsprogrammet HighSuite från min gamla Huawei mobiltelefon. Då Xiaomi inte har något motsvarande överföringsprogram blir frågan hur jag skall kunna få över filen smidigt till min Xiaomi telefon. Jag har köpt en ytterligare Xiaomi 11T mobiltelefon, då jag anser att den är prisvärd och tekniskt mycket bra. Jag vill kunna enkelt överföra allt från den gamla Xiaomi telefonen till den nya telefonen när allt är installerat i den gamla telefonen. Jag ringde Kundsupport på ett stort elektrotekniskt varuhusföretag i Sverige och frågade om dom hade en lösning på mitt problem. Det hade dom då det finns en enkel och prisvärd lösning på mitt problem. Den har använts under många år på Iphone mobiltelefoner. Man köper Sandisk Ultra USB-minne med vändbara USB-A och USB-C anslutningar och installera Appen Sandisk Memory Zone i min gamla och nya Xiaomi 11T mobiltelefon. Jag kollade priset på SanDisk USB-minnet hos dom och tyckte att det var alltför högt och letade runt på internet och fann att Amazon.se hade det bästa priset. Jag köpte SanDisk SDDDC4-128G-G46 Ultra Dual Ride, 128 GB, Silver för 234 kr på Amazon.se. Storleken 128 GB valde jag för att matcha USB-minnet till storleken på internminnet i min Qiaomi mobiltelefon. Då jag har stor erfarenhet av filhantering i PC och även på Android mobiltelefoner så skriver jag ned hur jag utförde överföringsjobbet. Säkerhetskopiera innehållet i gamla Xiaomi telefonen och föra över till nya Xiaomi telefonen: För att rädda telefonuppgifter, SMS , bilder och skärmdumpar så använde jag Säkerhetskopiera via Google Drive på gamla telefonen. Det gör man i Inställningar_Google_Säkerhetskopia. När jag skapade Google kontot i nya telefonen så valde jag att hämta säkerhetskopian från Google Drive. Pefekt nästan alla appar räddades över och allt annat. Nu följde ett arbete med SanDisk Memory Zone appen i mobiltelefonerna som krävde att man har har bra koll på vad man gör. Man blev tvungen hoppa mellan gamla mobiltelefonen, nya mobiltelefonen och PC. Installera SanDisk memory Zone appen i gamla och nya Qiaomi telefonerna: Laddade ned SanDisk Memory Zone appen i varje mobiltelefon. Nästa operation blev att installera appen Memory Zone i båda mobiltelefonerna och ansluta SanDisk Ultra minnet i USB-C porten på gamla mobiltelefonen. Därmed blev minnet formaterat med ett lämpligt format (troligen FAT32), som mobiltelefonen kan hantera. Viktigt att man inte sätter in USB-minnet i en PC som första åtgärd. Den riskerar då att bli formaterad för PC och kan inte läsas av mobiltelefonen. Skapa en undermapp i Phone Internminne Musik i gamla mobiltelefonen: Sandisk Memory Zone appen kan inte skapa undermappar (enda nackdelen). För detta krävs appen File Manager. Du gör så här: Start File Manager_Main Storage_Musik_tre prickar_New_Folder_Skriv in "Musik f PC"_OK. Nu ligger Musik f PC inne i internminnet som en egen rad. Om jag i framtiden vill lagra en ytterligare Musikmapp så är det enkelt att skapa en till mapp i Musik mappen med File Memory. Gör Backup #1 på hela innehållet i gamla Xiaomi telefonen: Jag bytte till Sandisk Memory Zone appen i Xiaomi telefonen för att kunna göra Backup på hela gamla mobiltelefonen till USB minnet. Gör så här: Välj Tools_Backup and Restore_Manual backup_5 Items är förbockade_Klicka på röda Backup. Backupen startar och vänta tills allt är kopierat. Storleken på Backupen ca 3 GB. Kopiera den stora musikfilen i PC till gamla Qiaomi telefonen: Därefter satte jag in USB minnet i USB-A porten i min PC och kopierade den stora filen på 20 GB till USB minnet. Gör så här i Windows 10: Gå till Din Dator_USB-enhet (D) om det endast finns en C-disk. Klicka på den och den lägger sig på nedersta raden som en mapp. När man klickar på den ser man en kort lista på innehållet i min gamla mobiltelefon. Du skall kopiera till Musik f PC, som nyligen skapades. Den är tom. Gå tillbaka till DinDator och leta upp mappen där den stora filen ligger i mitt fall på skrivbordet och kopiera innehållet till Musik f PC i gamla mobiltelefonen. Vänta tills kopieringen är klar Kopiera innehållet i Musik f PC till Phone internminne på gamla mobiltelefonen: Detta är inte nödvändigt att göra. Det går att köra musikfilerna med val från SanDisk Drive. Jag tyckte att det var mest smidigt att lägga musikfilerna i internminnet, vilket blir enklare när jag vill lyssna på musik. Sätt nu in USB-minnet i USB-C porten i gamla mobiltelefonen. Klicka på SanDisk drive. Det är här den kopierade stora filen till mappen Musikf PC ligger. Den följande operation för kopiering är rörig och lite svår att förstå och utföra. Beroende på hur man klickar får man olika vägval. Den mest direkta är min angivna nedan. Gör så här: Klicka på nedre raden My Files. Klicka på SanDisk Drive. Ger nytt fönster. Håll ned raden Musik f PC. Klicka på nedre raden röda Copy. Klicka på Phone. Klicka på raden Musik f PC. Ger nytt fönster, som är en tom mapp. Helt OK. Copy ITEMS HERE. Kopieringen startar nu. Vänta tills kopieringen är klar. Redigeringsarbete efter kopiering till Musik f PC i internminnet: Då musikfilen var väldigt stor 142 mappar och 1292 filer blev det en del fel vid kopieringen. Flera mappar hamnade inne i enskilda mappar och måste flyttas ut till huvudmappen Musik f PC. Efter någon halvtimmes arbete var det åtgärdat. Gör Backup #2 på hela innehållet i gamla Xiaomi telefonen efter Kopiering: Jag bytte till Sandisk Memory Zone appen i Xiaomi telefonen för att kunna göra Backup på hela gamla mobiltelefonen till USB minnet. Gör så här: Välj Tools_Backup and Restore_Manual backup_5 Items är förbockade_Klicka på röda Backup. Backupen startar och vänta tills allt är kopierat. Restore på innehållet från gamla mobiltelefonen till nya mobiltelefonen: Kopplade in USB-minnet i USB-C porten i nya mobiltelefonen. Välj SanDisk drive_Tools_Backup and Restore_Backup_Restore from latest backup_Backup_Klicka på röda Restore. Restoren startar och vänta tills allt är kopierat. Nu körs en Restore på ca 23 GB till min nya mobiltelefon. Det blev perfekt. Den stora Musikfilen blev helt korrekt. Inga fel. Viktig information har nu valt Backup helt på SanDisk USB-minne: Viktig information: Nu har jag ca 23 GB i min Backup från gamla mobiltelefonen, som gäller för båda mobiltelefonerna och ligger sparat i mitt USB-minne. Om jag skulle vilja göra en ny Säkerhetskopia med Google Drive så passerar jag 15 GB som är gratis och måste betala för tjänsten att ha mer än 15 GB. Jag tycker att detta är en onödig utgift, när jag har en ett bra USB-minne att lagra på. Vill man kan man ha två USB-minne som extra säkerhet. Avslutande omdöme i min nya mobiltelefon: Efter flyttning av appar och tillverkning av samlingsappar för vissa appar så är nu mina mobiltelefoner helt lika. Jag kan inte nog berömma appen Sandisk Memory Zone. Det är den första appen för filhantering, som fungerar enkelt och klarar av kopiering, göra backup och restore. Sandisk har gjort ett toppenjobb. Om du vill rädda över allt innehåll från en gammal mobiltelefon till en ny mobiltelefon så kan jag inte nog rekommendera appen Sandisk Memory Zone och Sandisk Ultra USB-minne med USB-C 128 GB.
