If the trail doesn't warrant full-on hiking boots, slip into these approach shoes designed for pre-climb ascent and exploration. Soft suede wraps around the foot, making them much more flexible than standard ascent shoes. A gore-tex waterproof lining keeps feet completely dry, and ecco unique receptor technology provides stability and cushioning in every step. ECCO is a European shoe company founded in Denmark in 1963. Today they own and operate factories throughout Europe and Asia. They produce all the leather used in making Ecco shoes, taking measures to protect the environment at the same time. Their sole aim is to make a comfortable walking shoe.

These are comfortable shoes with good support
These are comfortable shoes with good support. They are however slightly long and wide in the heel, and a bit stiff when new. After wearing them for a couple of weeks they feel more comfortable. I do have to tighten the laces to prevent my feet from slipping forward in the shoes (one smaller size were too tight for my wide feet).

Excellent Hiking Sneaker
I wore these shoes on shore excursions from our cruise ship. They were comfortable from day one and look quite nice for a hiking sneaker, not too clunky. The soles provided good traction over all sorts of terrain, and the uppers stayed dry in rain. I have a narrow foot and the fit was perfect with a lightly cushioned sock. ECCO makes a quality shoe. I'm very happy that I ordered them.

Ecco shoes look and feel amazing, however they are too narrow and after one hour trying them at home - my feet started hurting.

My favorite brand of shoes.
this is my second pair of this style shoe. My feet, legs, knees and back are quite comfortable through the day with them. They are well made and you can really tell the difference when you wear these shoes.

Fit was way too narrow!
The fit was extremely narrow. I tried to stretch them out by walking in them, bending them and wearing 3 pairs of socks but nothing worked to loosen them up. It felt like my feet were being compressed in a vice. I would have loved them otherwise but I had to return them since I could not wear them without being in pain. My feet are not exceptionally wide and I usually wear a normal width so I don't understand why the toe area was so narrow that it would not fit my feet.

Loved the shoes for hiking etc - but a bit narrow around the ball of the foot, and I'm a true 9. Maybe because they start off stiff, but decided to go with the Biom cross trainer instead - perfect!

Making long walks a true pleasure regardless of weather
Excellent walking shoe. Light weight, very comfortable and truly waterproof. This is my second pair, having purchased a brown pair long ago that are still in good shape. Well worth the extra cost.

Favorite pair of shoes of a life time
Favorite pair of shoes of a life time. No kidding, these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchased and have great support. The price is worth it. My foot is on the narrow side maybe a AA.

Superb fit and love the stretchy bit! And a great price.
I bought a pair of these at what I assume is the full price in a shop in Totnes, Devon (£135) but saw them online much cheaper and decided to get a second pair as they're such a particularly good fit and very comfortable. I particularly like the stretchy bit that goes across the top of the foot as I find that I normally have real problems with lace-ups in that if I don't tie them really tightly I end up with knee and back issues. This stretchy bit means that it gives my foot a fantastic good bit of extra support without me having to constantly re-tie the shoelaces to make them tighter. It's such a clever idea and I haven't seen it in any other shoes. I did think they might end up being uncomfortable as they look quite narrow in fit and normally I go for wider shoes, but the stretchy bit makes them incredibly comfortable and after wearing them solidly for a couple of weeks they're still perfect. The narrow fit makes my feet look long and slim when they're not. I didn't think I'd find another pair of shoes I would like as much as my Brasher Sightseers but they've stopped making those sadly so I'm glad I found these. They're more trainer-like than the sturdy Brasher proper walking shoes, but they're more than adequate for most walking situations and smart enough to wear daily for most occasions too. (Anyone who knows the Brasher Sightseer shoe will know they're really wide fitting and quite different from these in that regard, so it's amazing in a way that these fit so well, but they do).Nice colour too! And what a bargain compared to the first pair I paid top whack for.

cool and comfortable
I am a UK size 7 and the Euro 41 fitted very well. The shoes were slightly more purple than the photo implied but I still like them. They feel supportive and very comfortable although I could feel the back for a few days, but it didn't rub me up, I could just feel it. That's gone now and I feel I could walk a long way in these shoes. I wear them for work which means I'm in them for nearly 9 hours a day and my feet feel fresh as a daisy when I take them off.

Great walking shoes!
I have been looking for lightweight, waterproof walking shoes for ages - large (42), narrow feet make this an almost impossible task. Ecco have finally ended my search (or rather Amazon have, these shoes weren't actually available in the Ecco store I tried!). Probably better for narrow feet like mine. I find these incredibly comfortable, and look forward to many miles of happy walking.

Beautiful shoe but narrow toe bed.
Beautiful shoe. Unfortunately it was too narrow across the toe bed. I own several pairs of Ecco footwear and pay that bit extra to get the fit. Clearly made on a different last from any of my previous shoes. I was really disappointed that I had to return them.

Okay walking shoe.
I wear these shoes when walking my dogs. They are ok, but had to buy some insoles, because I found them a bit uncomfortable after a while. I think they probably need "breaking-in" a bit. I like the colour.
