5.11 Tactical Men's Athos Shorts 10-Inch Inseam, Running Gusset, Stretch Twill, Style 73338

The good: these shorts look good, and stretch a lot despite the fabric looking smooth like 100% cotton. You could do squats in these if you wanted to. The gray color is excellent, and will go with anything I wear. Still waiting on a couple of pairs of navy.The bad: as somebody who pocket carries a Scandium J Frame almost all the time, these were a terrible choice. The front pockets are too shallow, and the angled opening results in about 1.5" of my Crimson Trace grips hanging out. Not good. I can shift the gun forward to conceal it completely, but it falls back naturally with movement. The pocket is wide enough to put the gun in completely trigger side up, but that's not a great solution.The other issue with right front pocket carry is that it makes the small pocket on the very front essentially impossible to use. It's big enough for my Galaxy S10+ in an OtterBox, but not when it's competing for space with the revolver. It will also JUST fit width wise in the small hip pockets, with about an inch sticking out. I could see the same space sharing issue, though, with a wallet and a knife on either side- and I don't want to sit on my phone.The waist is little bigger than expected (compared to other brand new 5.11 pants), and the inseam is a little shorter than expected. I measured it at less than 9.5". I'm not tall, though, so they go to the top of my kneecap, which is fine for me.Bottom line, these are really nice shorts for $15, and all of the issues that I have with them can be solved by a belt holster. Maybe it'll motivate me to carry my Springfield XDs more often. If you're set on pocket carry, though, choose something else.

These short are my new favorite. Only pants I could find which have a integrated mag holder.A 10 round single stack 9mm magazine will fit completely in the "AR side pockets" almost flush with the top of the pocket so they wont show while concealing. But that also means you need to get your fingers into the pocket to get at the mag for a reload. Reload will take a little longer than something attached to a belt but this is much more convenient and concealable than a belt clip.These shorts are very similar to the 5.11 defender Flex pants. The only difference is the shorts have buttons on the back pockets and the shorts also have 1 more pocket on the front right for a cell phone.

The shorts exceeded my expectations because of the quality and feel. It has nice roomy pockets for edc items and feel very comfortable wearing. I ended up buying a 2nd within a week or two.

Nice shorts. Seem pretty well made like most of the other 511 clothing. I wear waist size 31 or some 32 depending on the manufacturer. I ordered 31 and they fit really well. Hope they don't shrink much. I'm a retired cop and these are good for weapon and spare mag carry.

5.11 never disappoints. This fit as sized and are high quality shorts. Very comfortable and easy to move in.

5'10" 180# atheletic build. Fit is great, quality is great. If you would rather have *hidden* side pockets over cargo pockets, these are for you. Similar to the Defender Flex but the material is thinner but had great flex. Mainly bought these for wearing for work, but can easily see them being in everyday casual. Will buy a second.

Simple but w a sturdy well made feel. Extra pockets help. I like them. Better than the cheap shorts you might get at a department store.

These are basically the shorts version of the 5.11 Defender Flex pants. Made of similar material. The pockets are slightly different. The colors are nice. Excellent all-around shorts without that cargo look with the big baggy pockets (these don't have the big baggy side pockets). Look sharp. Recommended.
