Kehan C821 has excellent day/night video and audio quality despite some flaws
ESong Digital posted out my dashcam very quickly. I received it on the 9th day after placing the order, which is a lot earlier than predicted. The actual quality of the camera is really great: the video quality is excellent day and night. The recording angle is very wide. I drive a small car and the windscreen pillars come into view. You will see some reflections of the dashboard. The solution; I suggest buying a CPL filter (24mm) and put it on to get a much clearer video. There are a couple of flaws though: the suction cup isn't strong enough, it falls off easily even though I cleaned the windscreen and wet the suction cup before putting it on. This flaw had been mentioned by other reviewers in the past. I added a strong sticky tape to hold it in place and it has been working fine. The other flaw is vibration; the camera suffers seriously from the car's vibration. It distorts a bit the images and seriously affects the audio quality. It's a shame. If not, the audio recording would be amazing, it would be crystal clear. I don't really know if I can eliminate the camera's vibration. But overall, this is an amazing dashcam for the price (US$90.00). This is the second dashcam I have invested in. The first one that I bought from Gearbest was disappointing! It was a fake mini805 (US$64.00) which was advertised at a discounted price and they didn't allow my 1 star review to be posted on their website. I managed to get it to work OK, after a lot of adjusting and fiddling. But the GPS cannot work properly. The specs they posted were totally different from the actual camera. The Pros:* Nice clear video during the day and very good at night* Very good microphone* Good built quality overallThe Cons:* Not strong enough suction cup (although you have the choice to use the double-sided tape fixed mount provided)* Suffers badly from vibration.Hopefully Kehan will take all the reviews seriously and fix the flaws of their products. If they do, they will gain a huge market share and the trust of their customers.Review update (11 Jan 16):After my initial review, ESong Digital contacted me and offered to send me a replacement bracket. They thought the vibration came from the faulty bracket. I was really impressed by their commitment and customer service. After I received the new bracket, I replaced it and conducted more tests. Unfortunately, the vibration remained the same. The images shook badly still and the vibration noise was just as bad. I will not be turning on the audio recording. On the positive side, the suction cup was working better, it held on perfectly.Maybe Kehan needs to redesign their dash cams. Instead of using suction cup, they may use a fixed holder with double sided tapes. The vibration is a shame. If not, it would have been an excellent product.

Very nice Cam, took me awhile to learn how to use it, but now, no problem... One thing I don't like is that my vehicle's cig. lighter always has power even when the key is off, so I have to plug & unplug the cam... Still can't figure how to get the audio to record while on.... Still a excellent cam...

Worked as advertise great full HD and great night vision
Worked as advertise great full HD and great night vision. I only wish that the usb plugin was located in the back of the camera and not the front of the camera. Makes it too difficult to hide the usb wire.

Awesome quality 2.7" Dash Cam
Have been using a clone G1W since late last year and now that I can't live without a dash cam in my '15 Honda Fit, decided to treat myself to an upgrade after seeing the much improved video quality of Go-Pro's and Garmin Dash Cams owned by friends. Wanted to keep it under $100 so considered getting an original G1W but after reading the positive Amazon reviews on Kehan's upper scale models decided to give their entry level a try. Unfortunately on-line tech reviewers such as: CNET, Wirecutter or the like haven't rated the Kehan brand. Nevertheless, for less than $70, decided to take a chance for the higher video quality and the increased coverage (140 vs. 120 degrees). What a difference!!! Most of the competition use the Novatek chip while this uses Ambarella (same as Go Pro). IMO, this is what makes the difference. Recordings super crisp and sharp. Nighttime performance is likewise exceptional. From the Amazon reviews on the dash cams in general, for many, it"s their first dash cam. For those who bought Kehan, with it having a higher price than the G1W, the expectation was more likely it had to be 4k quality. It isn't, but for me, a dash cam should be a tool to record any unfortunate incident with decent clarity. The G1W will do an acceptable job, but the Kehan does it with way better video quality and side-to-side coverage. One reviewer commented that the suction cup mount is flimsy. I disagree, as it's compact, suctions well and can adjust to cover multiple angles from anywhere on the front windshield. Nevertheless its fair to say that those with large fingers may find it more difficult to tighten the securing nut once the camera's position is determined. This was a non-issue in my case.Storage is via a 32gb OEM SanDisk Micro SD card and have had no playback issues.Set-up is straightforward in my case (having had previous dash cams). Just a matter of using the menu button to access all the settings. The owner's manual however is lacking and could do with more detailed operating instructions, including additional illustrations. At the very least, they should ID all the screen icons. That said, customer support from the Head Office in China is excellent. They answered all my queries immediately (via messaging or e-mail).Am so pleased with Kehan's product performance, am replacing the wife's dash cam in her '14 G550 with their upscale 170 deg. Super HD GPS model. Will post an update to gauge its long term performance.
