Fantastic filter, excellent quality jug and great value for money. Wish I could give it more stars
The media could not be loaded. The amount of time I spent researching which was the best water filter for me is embarrassing really... but moving on, I'm SO pleased I went with this one. My main two concerns were great taste, and less microplastics consumed - so I definitely knew I wanted the jug to be glass. I have had a Brita jug for many (many) years, and it's been fine, so I initially was going to go with the glass Brita jug because I thought it looked "prettier" than this one. (Shallow of me I know - don't judge).I figured I could just swap out the Brita filter for the Phox "compatible" filter, resulting in being able to have a prettier jug and eliminating the "throw away Brita filters". Win win! However, a couple of reviews (on both the Phox and the Phox compatible cartridges) made me think that the Phox was far and away the better choice over the Brita, and I should just get over my ridiculous notion that looks mean anything. Surely what matters is the taste and the environment?I felt the price was excellent value for money, especially for what you get - and the price of the filter replacement sachets were very much the same £ compared to other brands, so there was really no reason to not go for it. I loved the Scottish owned company with their values and genuine love for the environment, and the amount of importance they placed on good water for your health. When it arrived I actually quite liked the look of it, it was sturdy, easy to pull apart/put together (someone said they had problems with this, not sure how?) and had a lovely little rubbery base to protect the glass. It's a bit taller than the other jugs, but SO easy to fill - just push the little "tear drop" tab at the top and turn on the tap! Don't even have to remove the lid to do this. Super convenient and very easy to use.Someone else said that the size of the container was small, but you fill it up, let it filter, fill it up half again and there's plenty there. Ok it's not as big as the Brita, but keeping the filter full, and a jug in the fridge jug full - there's plenty of water around!Speaking of my fridge jug - I felt there's no point eliminating micro-plastics in my filter if I'm only going to put the filtered water into a plastic jug, so found a lovely big 1.8L glass jug that fits in the door of my fridge (search "Glass water judge for fridge door" and you'll see it, very pretty mottled glass jug with a gold handle).I had no problems with water pouring out the top (the "fill" compartment) as others mentioned, I think that might happen if you try to pour too quickly after filling? Let it filter first! The style of the jug means that you do have to sometimes lift it almost horizontal to get the water to come out but I'm not sure why that would be a problem for anyone. The water tastes amazing, very clear and clean tasting. In the video I had had the jug for only 2 weeks. At the time of writing this I've had it for nearly 2 months and it's been literally one of my favourite purchases so far. I get enjoyment from it each and every day.If I could give it 10 stars I would.

Excellent filter quality
Water definitely softer and tastes so much better. I live in a very hard water area and my Phox has made a huge difference. Slick glass base so no nasty micro plastics. Ease of installation. Value for money. Good size and excellent filter quality. Very happy with my purchase.

Love this, but it's far from perfect.
Buying this was quite a big deal for me, with very limited funds and with a basic filter jug for under a tenner. But...I really wanted to change my old system, there are filters and there are filters, they are definitely not all equal in taste and ability. So I am so glad I did...The water tastes really lovely, and this jug is made in Scotland, all of it...that was enough to make me want to buy it!.I love the chunky design, there's nothing cheap and flimsy about it. The glass part is a bit like a wide Kilner jar, substantial.I wanted glass as I never felt I was getting the old plastic jug really clean. Also, imho plastic does taint the water. I used to fill glass fridge door jugs to overcome this. But also I hated contributing to plastic waste and felt guilty every month disposing of a plastic filter. This one doesn't take very long to filter through, but anyway, before it runs out I pour some in a glass jug so that I'm not left waiting with kettle in hand. However, there are a couple of annoying things about it, which, considering this is a young innovative company, I think they could have designed better......I spent simply ages trying to fit the filter so that unfiltered water didn't trickle down round the edge, ( it still does, but only a drop or two) this was so annoying considering I've had the basic Wilko filters for many, many years and not one has ever leaked. And I have to go through this process twice a week now whenever I clean the jug, so I'm not looking forward to that..Also the top of the filter doesn't screw in, and particles of the filter contents, now they've been full of water are seeping out of the top into the reservoir. ( And yes, I did make sure the top was properly in) So, I think the filter itself could be better, and should be better!.Also I query how the capacity of 2.2 litres is in the description. I filled the reservoir twice and the water in the glass jug measured 1.1 litre. One of the reasons I chose this jug was because of the larger capacity. I had noticed in other makes of jug the total capacity. i.e container plus reservoir was shown, and I presume this is the case with the Phox, but, as you cannot pour out water whilst there is still some in the upper reservoir, this description is very misleading.Everything else I absolutely love, the eco aspect, the looks, the glass, the pure and delicious taste of the water....which really is a huge aspect of this jug. The cost of new filters is just OK, providing they don't increase in price, of course.Despite the niggles I'm happy that I bought it.....ha! See my edit below! For anyone in doubt about whether to buy this jug, there was an interesting article in the Daily Telegraph about the best water filter jugs, which anyone can Google and read, which talked about the quality and taste of filtered water, it was quite technical, rather than just taking about value for money.Hope that helps!Edit...3 times now the glass jar has fallen from the top, flooding my kitchen work surface, the last straw was soaking my toaster this morning, (I'd already filled and used it several times and it hadn't come apart) I don't have trouble screwing anything else, my hands are quite strong, so it's going back, I've been lucky so far in that the glass hasn't smashed, but it can only be a matter of time, so, along with the problems I mentioned above, I reluctantly decided to return it. I notice another reviewer had the same problem. What a shame!

No plastic waste, and great tasting water.
A well designed, good looking, eco, water filtering jug. An excellent design, and, no plastic waste. What's not to like?(Being glass, it's heavy when full).
