LEGO DUPLO Creative Play 10574 Creative Ice Cream

My almost 2 year-old LOVES this ice cream set (so much so that he will actually lick it.. but we're working on that!)! He got it as a gift for Christmas and he has literally played with it every day since! It comes with all of the pieces to make 3 cones - or you can stack the cones together to make a "super" cone like my son does! - and a popsicle. The pieces are a great size for my son's little hands, he can easily grasp them and build the "ice cream" all by himself. The colors are bright and engaging and it even includes a few toppings (blueberries and whipped cream blocks) so there are plenty of ways to get creative with this set. Even my daughters (7 & 8 years old) enjoy playing "ice cream shop" with their little brother. :) There is also a Duplo Ice Cream App that you can get for you iPad/iPhone and the colors match perfectly - my son had the app first so it was really fun to watch his eyes light up when he saw the ice cream come to life! :)My ONLY complaint about this set is that you have to have put a square block inside of the cone before you can put the ice cream on top of it. My son has trouble grasping this concept (because in a toddler's world, the ice cream should go directly on top of the cone!) and sometimes gets frustrated because of it. The issue could be fixed by permanently gluing a square block to the cone, but I do think it was a bit of an oversight on Lego's part. Other than that, I am very happy with this little ice cream set and my son absolutely loves it! I paid whatever full price was during the holidays for this set and purchased it directly from Amazon.

My kids love the Duplo food sets! They get very creative with them, Making very interesting combinations of foods. Our large family had owned many types of pretend play foods in our toy kitchen over the years. We've had beautiful wooden Haba foods, soft stuffed fabric Ikea foods, M&D wood and velcro slicing foods, plastic generic foods and more. While they all have their merits, I think my children get the most use and creative play time with these Duplo food toys. We keep this set, along with the Creative Picnic and the Creative Cakes in their own container, separate from our other Duplos, so they get their own attention. This Ice Cream set is the favorite. They especially love to combine similar pieces from the other two food sets to make very tall, rainbow ice cream cones.

This was the "present" that my son got my 3 year old daughter when he was born and came home from the hospital. What a hit!! She loved it. And it provided her hours of entertainment while we dealt with a newborn.This set is fantastic. She already had the cupcake set and this is a bit smaller (it doesn't seem to have as many pieces) but the ice cream cone is actually much easier to make and pretend to eat than a cake, so this has quickly become my daughter's favorite toy. Plus the pieces go very well with the cupcake set so she is very happy.

I'm sorry but this item is not worth the price it is currently going for. I purchased it in 2015 for $14.39 and was looking to buy another for my second daughter. You cannot justify this price increase with inflation etc. Just buy 10 different duplo sets instead. Dissapointing.

my 2.5 year old loves playing with toy food and building. This set is a great combination. She uses it to build ice cream trains, ice cream stores, and serve her friends and family ice cream. I love that it works with all her other duplo blocks. The ice cream "scoops" have great colors that are a nice change from the primary colors of all the other blocks.

I just gave this toy to my granddaughter for her second birthday. Once we opened the package, she started building with the colorful and pretty pieces with no guidance or help necessary. She enjoyed this toy so much that she played with it many times since she received it. The pieces are just the right size, and they are easy to connect (for a first Lego Toy) as children should have fun with their toys (while they are learning many things in the process of playing), and not be frustrated with little pieces to play at this age. Finally, my little granddaughter also put all the pieces back in the box once she was done playing, something I was very proud of her for doing.

This product was chosen for a child that asked Santa for ice scream. That was a tough one, so this was a viable option! The set is fun, cute, and of course superior Lego Duplo quality, but I would not specifically choose this set over any of the various other sets available. It does lend some creative and imaginary play, but I would say it is limited when compared to some of the other Duplo sets. The ice cream is a little hard for younger children to get to stick to the cone because you have to place a cube piece in the bottom of the cone beneath the ice cream scoops. If you are looking for a good quality pretend food set, then this is a good option. If you are looking to add onto your Duplo collection with more pieces to encourage imaginative play, I would invest in one of their many other sets. I gave it 3 stars because it's "okay" and I wouldn't purchase it again. I want to be clear that this only based on the design of this particular set, not the superior quality that Duplo offers up time and time again.

This was super cute and our grand daughter at 2 1/2 enjoyed making and serving us various treats. The only thing is, they are really not easy to take apart, and she got a little frustrated with that... maybe they will loosen up with more playtime. There are enough pieces to keep them busy for awhile, and the colors and shapes are nice.
