Don't hesitate
I was looking for a G-Shock because I knew they were tough, waterproof (sorry, 'resistant') and dependable. I also knew that they were in many cases bulky and heavy. Coming across this watch I realised I could have a compromise, but I didn't fully appreciate how great a watch I was purchasing until it arrived.First of all, it looks even better than in the photos you'll find online. I have quite thin wrists, so a big watch looks out of place and slightly gaudy on me. The understated badassery of this watch is something that is best conveyed in person, so take the plunge! I'm a big fan of the minimalist design, and I really like the fact that this watch will never clash with anything I'm wearing. That makes it versatile, and an easy choice for any combination of clothes from gym wear to formal. The majority of negative reviews on this product are people whinging about not being able to see the time... If you have eyes in your head, you will have no issues reading the face. I like the fact that the face isn't viewable to others, to the point where the face looks all but blacked out from a distance. I also like that the numbers are light on dark, rather than vice-versa. The functionality isn't impaired at all, so don't be put off by complaints from a myopic few.I've never bothered to write a review for a product before, but I felt compelled to in this case just on the chance that there was someone still umming and ahhing about the watch. Buy this bad boy and try to go a day of wearing it (outside you hermit) without a compliment or a jealous glance!

Best watch!
My husband’s favorite watch. The only brand he will wear. It’s very durable and water proof, which is perfect with having kids. I highly recommend.

This watch is the perfect size, not too big or too small
After reading many reviews i decided to purchase this watch. I read reviews on everything before I decide to pull the trigger and buy a product. This is the first review that I have ever written.I was researching g-shock watches and was having trouble finding one that had a smaller face. I can't stand the big faced watches that everyone wears now. This watch is the perfect size, not too big or too small. I have gotten a few compliments on how well the watch looks with the black-on-black look. This watch is nice enough to be worn for any occasion. As far as the negative about not being able to see the time at certain angles, I think its a non issue. If you want to see the time, then turn your wrist and the problem is solved. To me, its a complete no issue. The other problem that people had was that the buttons are hard to press. I will agree that they are harder to press than other watches, but again I think its a non issue. The strap is also very comfortable. The only negative I would have is that sometimes the screws on the back of the watch will catch some arm hair.I would buy this watch again in a heartbeat if I were to misplace this one.

Beauty in Utility
Yeah, it's not the most legible display. Is it as bad as people make it seem? No. Should you buy this watch if you want to use it in high pressure situations where the time needs to be read without fail every time? No. Should you buy this watch if you want a sleek looking daily driver that's a notch higher in style than the standard DW5600 Casio? Absolutely. I barely take this thing off my wrist unless I'm dressing up an outfit. It's stealthy. It's fitting for smaller wrists like mine. I use the stopwatch and timer functions all the time. For the price? Such great value. 9/10.

Great watch, cool unique look-
G-Shock watches speak for themselves. My last G-shock unfortunately had a broken strap and since it was purchased in Japan, good luck with finding parts for it. I would agree with another reviewer that the "adjust" button is harder to press, but that's probably because Casio doesn't want you to accidentally hit that button. All the other 3 buttons protrude a bit more, and you don't have to use your nails to push down. The back lit is blue, and it's easy to read. Overall you can't complain about the build quality of the watch. The strap feels extremely comfortable, and the watch doesn't feel bulky at all. I have a pretty thin wrist and it fits me pretty well.

Beautiful, durable watch to add to the collection
I've always wanted to add a G-Shock to my collection of watches, which primarily consists of automatics and handwind movements. I fell in love with the basic shape and size of this particular G-Shock, and the inverted display colors sealed the deal. As always it keeps great time since it uses the extremely dependable quartz movement, and has the durability that is expected from this line of Casio. I wear this watch with almost anything, and it always looks good. I definitely feel like this watch is a great bang for the buck. Also, the display is relatively easy to read...especially with the indiglo feature (which has a really cool glow to it).

Amazon loves to send open box stuff
This review is more for Shamazon and friends.I am about tired of Amazon and 3rd party sellers sending out open box products without buyers knowledge. Why?? My watch had dirt and smudges on it and did not come with a manual or Warranty card. Just the watch and a tin box.Casio: I mean the watch is good but minimal in feature. Still a solid 5600 model I'll keep because I LOVE Casio. However, these products I been buying, obviously returned and then redistributed, is loose-ended and absurd;Especially when you have no warranty info and documents for a "new" product. At least with other E-Commerce sites, the seller has the decency to inform customers about open box products. This is absurd.

Sturdy, handsome tactical watch
This is my 2nd G-shock watch. I wore the last one for nearly 10 years straight. I got bored with it and tried to destroy it to justify buying this one. Impossible. You can't kill 'em.What i love about this one is the black face, the slim profile, the 24-hour military time format, and the built-in stopwatch.I can wear it with T-shirts and jeans. I can wear it with a dress shirt. And I always wear it to the gym.Hell, it's waterproof, so I could even wear it in the shower or pool if I forget to take it off. It's rugged and class, lightweight but indestructible. Perfect for the well-dressed gear nerd.

Overall good beater watch
I was looking for a beater/everydy watch I could wear but still something that flew under the radar. This fit the bill pretty well. I liked that the negative display was red tinted, this was a nice touch that you don't see a lot on the other blacked out G-Shocks. On the topic of blacked out watches, another nice feature was that even the pushers and buckler were blacked out. The only thing that isn't is the caseback, which is fine since it rests on my wrist and is relatively unseen. Like many others say, the display is a little bit hard to read in direct sunlight and some lowlight settings. This is usually fixed by using the backlight.Overall, if you are looking for a G-Shock with military inspired feautures and looks this is a great watch to have. It's not very expensive but packs much value. It's running on a basic module so it only has time, date, timer and stopwatch. For what I need this is lore than I need but if you're looking for more features this won't have it.

Love the red display!
I had this watch on my wish list for nearly a year - it was well worth the wait!It is a superb military style watch with a suitable red colored display, my only complaint is it is tricky to read unless you’re staring right at it in full light, but this is a minor concern really. Also it would’ve been ideal had the backlight been red instead of blue.Overall I am extremely satisfied with this watch, and it absolutely recommend it to anyone seeking a military themed watch!
