Bren1 Record Clamp Gold Edition

Unfortunately the clamp was too heavy for my old B&O RX turntable. The folks at Gilabendtm were excellent and made the return easy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy other products from them in the future. Btw.......the clamp was really cool looking, just too expensive for a paperweight

love it. looks sleek and makes me look sophisticated while showing my cheap record player. with the piece on, my turntable looks expensive and precise.

Theres no doubt these weights work well -- but theres also no doubt they are also shamelessly over priced eye candy. Were talking anywhere from $50 to sometimes hundreds of dollars for whats essentially a simple dead weight -- I like them myself, but I don't like paying $50 - $100 and I found long ago a simple large black rubber laboratory cork with the center hole drilled out to the right size for a light to medium friction and pushed down on the spindle works the same way and doesn't put any weight on the spindle bearing ----- no its not as pretty as aluminum billet, stainless steel or solid brass, but if you cant afford one of the wonder weights the rubber lab cork works very well and only costs $2.00 brand new- -----

I own a Michell Reference Hydraulic turntable with an acrylic platter. The Michell record clamp does not fit my turntable so had been looking for a good alternative. Now that the Bren1 clamp is available in gold it is ideal for my needs - matching the platter supports. The clamp itself is very nicely engineered, and a good weight - though not too heavy. Easy to fit to the spindle with its recessed edges. Soundwise it certainly impresses - bass is deeper and tighter, and the top end sparkles that bit more as well. I didn't think a clamp would really make that much difference but I was wrong - I would highly recommend this clamp.
