Sounded nice and loud when I turned it on as it played the welcome tune. The problem is whenever you speak into the mic, your voice is flooded by static. It sounds like when you have your cell phone by a speaker and you start to get a call, except like, on-going the whole time you're speaking.

A lot of instant fun. I've bought a couple to send to friends/family members to brighten their lives. Everyone loves to sing!

Very easy to set up and use for younger children.Not sure my daughters appreciates the tremendous volume!!
