Design ToscanoKnothole Owl Tree Sculpture

I gave to my daughter for Christmas. She loved it. It looks so cute on her tree in the backyard.

I love him. He is meant to hang on a tree outside but he Will hang inside our house!His eyes are beautiful. Very well made and worth the price.

This little guy is on our big stone chimney above our fireplace and it looks like he has nested right in the rock. It is a bit smaller than I had hoped but really looks realistic and cute there with our woodland decor. Easy to hang too. We used a zip tie since it is concave for tree hanging but it is on a flat surface. Glad we bought it.

I am delighted with the appearance of this little owl on my ash tree. I deducted one star because the back of the sculpture has a narrow curve, so it will not fit flat against the bark of a larger diameter tree. (My tree is a bit larger than double the width of the sculpture.) I had to find a long nail with a small head to hang it. The bottom of the sculpture hangs out almost an inch from the bark below it. This is not obvious until you are right next to it or looking at it from the side. I hung it on the north side of the tree, so it should not blow off.

So realistic. I have a knothole with it's name on it.

I had a few doubts about this item, as it was stated to be made of metal (the only metal on it is a small plate on the back with the 'keyhole' mount), and I thought it might not last long. I actually just got mine today, and was pleased to find it made of a mix of marble dust and resin (which is a VERY good material, although if dropped on a hard surface, is prone to shattering. So, when I mounted it to my tree, I added a small black 'stop' screw above the very top to prevent it from moving upward, and added a couple of dabs of silicone caulk along the sides - out of sight - to help secure it. It does actually look just like the photo, is realistically painted, and has those realistic glass eyes! My neighbor came out, just as I was finishing mounting it, and I told her I had a 'new friend' in my yard (which I decorate with 12 statues of St. Francis - many of which I also got from Design Toscano - and 20 animal figurines, er, 21 NOW!) I moved aside so she could see it, and she bust out LAUGHING!! (from delight!) "THAT is ADORABLE!!", she said. I agree, and highly recommend this item.. it is 'just the ticket' for a unique, charming yard decoration!!

I've bought many decor items from Toscano. This was actually cheaper than the brand,s own website, because I am a Prime member.

Love it so much even I live in condo and don't have any tree to hang, I bought it to hang on the wall.First one had a deep scratch on his eye so returned it. 2nd one still has small scratches but not too bad.He is sooooooo cute. I like him so much.But I wish his eyes look like glass clear....Not with scratches......It comes with good protection. I don't know how his eyes always get scratched.....

The way the back of it is curved, it is difficult to fit it onto a tree. I have it on a very large maple tree trunk. It does not sit well. It is lopsided so looks a bit unrealistic. No way to make is sit properly as the tree bark has ridges that make it stick out.I cannot make it look good unless I find the perfect tree with a thin tree branch.However, it is cute.
