I've stumbled onto some secret cooking advantage that no one else seems to know about.
I own this Demeyere 5.5 Qt Dutch Oven and love it. I haven't touched my CI dutch oven since I got it. It's heavy where it needs to be, on the bottom, but is overall significantly lighter than any CI piece. It's so much easier to maneuver and wash. The bottom contains a 2mm layer of copper sandwiched between 2 thin layers of even more conductive silver, so it heats up much more quickly and evenly than CI. It works fine in the oven but especially on the stovetop, it is so superior to CI that I feel like I've stumbled into some secret cooking advantage that no one else seems to know about. I use it for soups, stocks, stews, braises, boiling pasta, Chef John at Food Wishes amazing southern style green beans, and anything else I would use a dutch oven or stockpot for. Oh, btw, the handles stay cool on the stovetop, unlike cast iron.

Excellent build quality with even heating
Excellent build quality with even heating, thick sides and tight fitting lid. Elegant in appearance and design. The Inductoseal base is very thick with the Seven Ply and appears to have a long life ahead of it. My only complaint is cosmetic insofar the Silvnox matt finish leaves very fine buffing swirls that can bee seen on close examination. As long as the finish works as advertised I do not have a problem with this as my used All-Clad develops blemishes on the exterior and interior finish of the pan but looks nicer when in new condition. Overall I very much like the design and functionality of the large pot and give it five stars for this reason. There might be something better out there that would be be superior in quality to the Demeyere but this manufacture certainly ranks in the top tier in my view. Recommended ++

The Best
Great cookware. If maintained will last forever. Only use Barkeepers Friend Cleaner to keep it looking great. I have some pieces 25 yrs old that look great. Don’t use high heat, it does not require it

High Quality!
Love this line of cookware. I'm slowly replacing my old cookware with these. This one replaces my old pot that is warped and dances around when I boil water for pasta! Looks beautiful and cooks with even heat. Takes a while to get used to cooking with good cookware, but once you get the hang of it, you'll never go back to the cheap stuff!!

Great stockpot, but really heavy to pick
Heats very evenly, even if your burner is smaller than the pot (I have a glass top stove). Simmers soups and stews perfectly without having to check the simmer all of the time. Very little sticking because of too high heat. Great stockpot, but really heavy to pick up

Demeyere Atlantis 5.5 Quart Casserole with lid
I really am enjoying this 5.5 quart Demeyere Casserole with lid. I have made many soups in it, steamed sweet corn, and other vegetables in it, also. For best results, I keep the heat no higher than medium. It heats quickly and cleans up very nicely. I have evenused it in the oven. Yes, it is somewhat expensive, but I intend to use it for the next 30 years. It is made in Sweden, I believe, and the company, Demeyere, was bought by a German company, J.K. Henkels in 2008...not USA-made, but not much cookware is today. Both companies have an excellent reputation and their cookware is 18/10 stainless steel with other metal layers below. Their pans have riveted handles, not bolted, so the insides always clean easily. It has taken me 3 years of research to find a panset that fits my long list of requirements. These pans fit nearly all of these. The only drawback is that these Demeyere Atlantis pans are a little on the heavy side. I have also purchased pans from J.K. Henkels, the company that owns the Demeyere brand now. The quality of the J.K. Henkels Sensation is the very same quality and I like the handle to pan-body weight ratio a bit better.Either of these two brands is excellent.

Quality
Very good stock pot. The full price brand new it’s way too much but if you check often you will find a good deal. I got it second hand looking like brand new without a scratch for 210$. It should last a life time so it’s worth the money. I thought it’ll be too big but the 8 liter capacity is perfect.
