Great Product, Good Value
I was pleasantly surprised when I received 30 filters instead of 10. It is 10 packs of 3 filters. The cost at approximately a buck a piece was also very reasonable. I have been making wine for a while and a good tip as previously stated, you cannot have a lot of sediment if you are starting with #2 pads. Rack the wine every day for 3 to 4 days. When I run the wine through the filter, if it is not clear on the first run, then remove filters and rinse with cold water and run wine through the same filters again. This can be done up to 3 times, each time the wine will be a little clearer than the last. If after 3 times, ( based on 5 gallon batch )the wine is not clear enough, just use a second set of pads and it will be perfect on the 4th run. By the way, the pads are supposed to be soaked in water for 5 to 10 minutes prior to using the first time. Initially you will get water before the wine starts coming through so if that bothers you, then purge the water in a separate container. I make wine from various grape and fruit juices obtained from the grocery store. Wish I could post a picture with this review.

Good for capturing rough sediment
So far, I've used 3 packs of these filters on some dark wines (elderberry, blackberry, and concord grape), and they seem to capture a lot of the heavier sediment but I have found that I still get sediment in my bottled wine after the bottles set in the wine rack for only a couple weeks. So the lesson learned here is to not bottle wine after using this filter but rather to wait a few weeks, rack it, and then run it through a #3 filter. Another to point to make is that it is important to rack your wine a couple times before using this filter for the first time. The wine I ran through it was racked at least 3 times before I used the filter and I still had sediment in the wine after filtering. Lastly, always run at least a gallon or two of clean water thru these filters before you start running wine through them. The dust in these filters have a nasty taste and you don't want that in your wine. Then when you do start running your wine, run a couple cups of wine down the drain to make sure all the water is removed before you start capturing the wine in your carboy.

Improper packaging - SINGLE Pack!
This item shipped as a SINGLE pack - Not a 10 Pack as indicated in the description. I have ordered this in the past as a 10 pack and it was delivered as such. A second shipment within a day of returning the first improper order resulted in the same thing - a SINGLE pack was received. NOT a 10 Pack. GERRRRR!

Great filter
I use these filters for wine that has been racked several times and has very little sedement left, maybe has been sitting for 8 months. I just homebrew, making less than 100 gallons a year, so I dont bother with the extra fine filter. This type still gives it a very nice glow.

Great Product, Great Service
At this price I expected this to be a generic, made in China brand but was very surprised to find it was the legit Buon Vino brand filters made in Germany. Independently packaged in threes just like you would find in a store with ten packages in a zip lock bag for convenient storage. I can’t believe what a great value this is and arrived in less than 48 hours. I highly recommend this.

The Real McCoy at a Decent Price
We've been using these for years with good success. A few tips: 1) If you don't soak them long enough, they will leak at the edges. 2) After soaking, we run a small amount of a weak sulphate solution (which we discard) to sterilize everything. 3) Don't even think that you can clear wine with these; that's not the purpose. If you do, they'll clog up before the batch is run through. Instead, rack the wine off the deposits a few times, until no further deposit appears after a week's aging. 4) You can do two batches with one set of filters if you rack a white first, then a red. 5) If you don't have a second carboy to rack to, you can run a "kidney loop"; that is, draw from and return to the single carboy. Run for about twice the time it takes to filter from one carboy to another.

Wine filter
These are great to add that final touch to the quality of your wine. There is a learning curve to wine filtering and it can be messy but once you get it it becomes an absolute necessity. By all means allow sufficient settling time and don’t try to filter partially settled wine or you will overwhelm the filters. Highly recommended.
