Wilton Decorating Cakes Book (The Wilton school) (1999-06-06)

Cake decorating book. For further learning. Was little disappointed to have it shipped with a 50 cent masking tape sticker when I paid $20 shipping included. Otherwise, I like the book.

This book helped quite a bit in my cake decorating class- to the point where I probably could have learned all I needed from the book and skipped paying the $500 for the class. I even got a job as a cake decorator, so this book has definitely improved my skill to the point where I can make money off of what was once a hobby.This book is good to show you basic skills- there are flowers, basic borders, and basic fondant instructions. It's good for starting out, and getting a feel for cake decorating before trying more advanced cakes such as tiered or completely fondant cakes.Note: You'll need THICK frosting for the flowers in this book. Follow the Wilton recipe, and you should be fine.There are also some very good ideas for cakes in this book. Not only the cake on the front cover, I showed an idea to a woman getting married from inside the book and she wanted it for her wedding (yes, that good.)I would highly recommend getting this book if you want a good overall idea of how to start decorating cakes. But remember- always make sure your cakes are level, and ALWAYS get a good smoother comb. The book may say to use a spatula, but... it's so much easier to use a smoother.

The book just came today and was damaged. Amazon is replacing the book which has been hassle free so far.Looking through the book it seems to be very informative and easy to use. My granddaughter and I are looking forward to learning to how to decorate using this book. Becky & Rainey

Love this softcover book from Wilton, it has great information including all the tips and different techniques that can be used to make a cake look like it just came from the best bakery in town. Highly recommend this publication and seller. Shipping was very fast!

Really helpful book - planning to make a wedding cake, so this really cake in handy to review different styles and plan what we wanted! Will keep as a nice reference book, too!

If tou already have wilton course 1 kit do not buy the book.80% of it is in the wilton course 1 book that comes with the kit

Very informative and good book.

I was looking for the Wilton Yearbook but this is the only book printed in 2019. They must not make them anymore, and this is a poor substitute.

I think the cake decorating set is great.... I got it for a Christmas gift.... I am sure she is going to like it

The exteriorof the bookwas pretty dirty, but the inside for the most was good. Overall condition was good.

Ich habe das Buch für meine Tochter gekauft, sie ist 14 und bakt sehr gerne.Das Buch ist mit seinen Schritt-für Schritt erklärungen sehr gut,aber manche Dinge sind nicht einfach,wobei hier "Übung macht den Meister"!Man sollte der englischen Sprache mächtig sein, da es ja in englischer Sprache geschrieben ist.Größtes Problem ist eher, die ganzenMaterialien zu beschaffen, wie Icing, Fondat usw., aber das hat mit dem Buch nichts zu tun.Somit können wir diese Buch gut weiter empfehlen!
