This truly is a well-written translation with the original text in French as well. It truly is something incredible. Amazing quality and the images are great.

THE definitive edition of the Red Dragon/Grand Grimoire plus tons of excellent scholarship to put it in it's historical context. Educational value aside Aaman Lamba is not only a scholar but a practitioner so there aren't some of the same oversights of necessary information. I can't recommend this enough.

The content inside is exactly what it's advertising and I agree that background knowledge would be helpful or just have Google on standby. Other than that my only true complaint which isn't that big of a deal is the images in the book and cover. I don't know if it's just my copy but all of the images are a little blown out and pixelated. The text front to back is perfectly fine, just the images. As I said, it isn't that big of a deal but just something to be aware of.

This is what a faithful translation of a classic should be. The work is pristine, easy to read, and presented along side the original French. The author is also incredibly approachable. While definitely not for beginners, this edition of Dragon Rouge is peerless.

I really love this book. I've been looking for a book like this for a while. It is a complete encyclopedia of sorts with all the spirits, their history, and how to work with them. There is so much knowledge in this book. You would have to purchase over 200 books to get something of it's equivalency.
