Vitamix S30 S-Series Blender, Professional-Grade, 40oz. Container, Black

I've been wanting to purchase this product for several years now... after going through two nutribullets, I was ready to make the major purchase. My first impressions... very powerful machine. With the nutribullet, it was powerful too, however, when I blended items like almonds, dates, or kale.. I still tasted bits and pieces of it. With the vitamix, it was completely liquefied. That's a big plus for me especially when individuals in my family don't like to taste what they are drinking. I was able to blend avocados, zucchini, cucumbers, etc into smoothies and the husband and kids ate it up. Perfect way to sneak in vegetables.There is a downside to this machine. The blend's suction is incredible. That's a plus but also a negative especially when you are trying to take it apart and clean it. I have to either have my husband open it up for me or use a wooden spoon and use it as a leverage to open it.Another downside is the blending cup. It's a great idea... however... it's small. I wish it held more liquid.Other than those two issues, I thoroughly enjoy this blender and would recommend it.

SO HAPPY I spent the $$$ for this blender. I'd had a NutriBullet that was nice but unreliable. Borrowed a Ninja and HATED IT! Tried a cheap Oster just to save money. it was adequate but meh, smoothies not smooth. I read through quite a few reviews and decided to try the Vitamix. I'm single so the Personal size was best for me. For my budget it was a bit pricey, but WOO HOO, it is SO worth it. Beautiful styling. Nice heavy base. Quiet motor. EASE OF OPERATION and CLEAN UP are outstanding. Superior blending power. I tried a Kale, pineapple + drink and it was smooth as water. (Nutri typically had a nice smooth blend but not as well as Vitamix). Spinach, banana, strawberry was smooth and creamy like a milkshake. So far every veggie/fruit combo I've tried has blended out better than I could have imagined. Totally happy.

I purchased this because we have a regular Vitamix and I love it. I initially wanted this to take along for my travels, but after reading previous reviews I realized that would not work. Yet, I still purchased the personal S30 for the convenience of being able to blend and go with the personal cup and to take it between homes. My initial blend in cup was a disaster. I followed the recommended guide for adding ingredients which resulted in not having a lot of space in the blender. When I added the liquid last it caused all the ice, frozen ingredients, and powders to stick together. The leafy green got stuck, I added more liquids, shook the bottle, and tried to blend for almost 20 minutes before I had a half-way decent drink. It was a very frustrating process. Even worse, when I tried to speed the motor passed 3 it started burning and shaking across my counter.The next time I used the machine was about a month later and I used the pitcher. It works much better than the blender cup but, it still does not blend well at all. Only using kale as my green veggie for my smoothie, I could not blend past 2-3 without the same shaking or burning smell. At this point, I decided I wanted to return this device as using my juicer and then blending drinks was a better option opposed to this, but I missed the window of retuning items by 1 day with Amazon. On New Year's Eve decided to give it another try. As I started blending and tried to increase the speed to four the motor started smoking and the light started flashing over the number 1. The blender completely stopped working. I am completely disappointed. Now that I am home for a few days I am going to call to use the warranty to try to get it fixed since I can not return it. I am extremely disappointed in this product as I have several blenders which I have had for many years that still work, they just don't chop green veggies. But what is most disturbing is I purchased this at the same time my sister and her spouse purchased Nutribullets and they haven't had any problems making their daily smoothies.Worst Blender I have EVER PURCHASED, EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

I love the blender but good luck replacing the container if you need to. I only need the cover but I was told I cannot get the top without buying the whole container, even the Vitamin website doesn't sell it. A waste of money if you ask me. I would not buy the S series, get one of the bigger blender so its easier to find the parts you need to replace.

returned it for the larger size. needed one I could make my babies food. larger one is awesome

This blender is great!! It's perfect for my needs, doesn't take up much counter space and clean up is easy. Note: following the Vitamix instructions for loading items into the blender and everything blends up just fine.The unexpected bonus was the two 20 ounce to-go cups...very nice. I didn't realize I would be able to blend drinks in the cup. The blender base screws onto the cups and you put it on the base then blend. Also, the insulation on the cups are great, I put my cold drinks in with a bit of ice and it stays nice and cold.Overall, a very good purchase and worth the money.

While I'm genuinely happy with this purchase, I'm a little frustrated that at top speeds this VitaMix "walks" along my counter (from the vibration, I'm guessing). With my old blender, I could set it on high to mix and move on to other things in the kitchen. This S30 requires supervision so it doesn't fall off the counter. It's capacity is a lot smaller than my old blender, so now when I'm mixing soups or sauces, I really do have to work in batches. That's not a deal breaker per se, but worth mentioning.Also, the caps for the two drink cups are really big and bulky which strikes me as a design flaw. Their size doesn't offer anything new and meaningful, so it's more like overproduction than superior design - which takes up space in my cupboard.As a blender, the S30 is great and would rate a 5 if not for the 3 points I just noted.
