I was initially upset that this outlet stopped working after three and a half years and I ordered another brand which didn't work out of the box. So I purchased this one again and it was so easy to set up and worked right away and I was very relieved. So Five Stars for relieved it worked well out of the box. And for something this inexpensive, three and a half years is fair. I use it to switch fans on and off while I'm working out. The Amazon branded fan will no longer turn off and it was simpler to get this remote outlet than replace the fan.

Updates:I had Amazon replace the unit and the new one works as it should. I've have had this new unit for weeks and had absolutely zero issues. The battery idraining n the remote is no longer an issue. I'd also like to say that even though it took the companys customer service some time to get back to me (Amazon had already replaced the product) once the customer service was on it they were very thorough, reaching out numerous times to make sure i was happy and their product worked as it should. I could knock off a star I guess fir the inconvenience of getting a faulty remote but in the end these things happen and what is important is tgat the company and Amazon stood tall in making this right.Original review:I'm in the process of having this item replaced hoping that my experience with the product is due to a faulty product. When I received the 3 dual prong outlets and remotes I noticed that I almost threw away the shipping envelope in which it arrived, and accidentally the battery for the remote which was just laying in the bottom of the envelope as opposed to being in the box containing the outlets and remote. This first battery worked one time the same day I received the order, literally. I turned a water fountain on, then off, and by the next day the battery in the remote was dead. At this point I thought perhaps just a cheap "starter" battery as it wasn't a name brand so i went out and bought two brand new energizers. Put one in, and walla! the remote control worked again. So I turned my fountain on in the morning, and again off at night. The next morning I experienced the same issue with the remote being dead. So that is why I am rating the product one star at this point, it works great, but only for a day and batteries being priced at a little over a dollar each seems a bit extravagant in terms of cost and trouble. The really strange thing is that when the remote is being operated there is a red led that lights up when you press the on or off switch, so i don't understand what is drawing the current out of the remote if that light isn't lit (which it isn't...) So I have agreed to have Amazon send me another unit, and I will try this one out and see if my unit is just somehow a defected unit, and I will reevaluate either way. If it works for you, then it is a great value I think in terms of price. But for me a battery per day is just a pain.

I love these. They work prefectly. I can use the remote from inside the house and it works great.I love that is has control for 3 of them on 1 remote. Would highly recommend.

Four stars because the battery that was included for the remote was useless. After replacing it, the unit works perfectly.

It was a good price, arrived on time and worked right out of the box. Perfect for my Attic lighting!

I have a feral cat that lives on our porch. I added a heated pad & heated bowl for this cat and both are plugged into this remote extension plug. This outlet allows me to turn the pad & bowl off from the house on warmer days without disturbing the cat. I can stand in a window about 6 feet away to use the remote. The light on the plug allows me to see if it is on or off. It works as expected and I am pleased with it.

Battery is wrapped ultra tight for protection. Plastic needs to be removed before insertion. very hard to see so installed initially and it would not work until I figured out that the battery was wrapped.Works fine now.Ordered 4...note all 4 operate on different frequencies so be careful not to mix remotes up.

Awesome remote. Plugged in the base to my 2 lamp cords then into my extension cord out in my gazebo. And voila, instant lights from inside! Such a great and easy thing to add.

The remote control is a game changer! I love being able to turn Christmas lights on and off without having to deal with moving the tree or going out in the snow, as the case may be.The only negative in my view is the shortness of the cord. It would be more helpful if the cord were a bit longer. As it is, when you plug this into your wall outlet, the whole thing kind of "dangles" from the wall outlet unless the wall outlet is really, really close to the ground. I would have preferred that the dual outlets sit a bit lower as the cord is fairly stiff and, being so short, it can be a bit of an annoyance when you plug into the dual outlets.But still, it does the job well and I am happy with it.
