Powerful Book on Breathing and Cold Therapy
I’ve wanted to read this book ever since I heard an interview with Wim on a podcast. Wim has broken ground on the understanding of breath and life as well as cold and life. We have become so soft in our modern age with all the comforts and conveniences that we miss the value of slowing down and taking the time to breathe and learn the value of cold. When we expose our bodies to cold for brief periods it opens up the primal modes of survival. And, it opens up our minds. It increases our immune system and stress disintegrates. It’s the same with breathing and getting the oxygen to our brains. With the oxygen comes the healing. But this only scratches the surface. Wim goes into the scientific verification of his methods. There is something for all of us in this book. Read the book to learn more.I am a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ and I find the breathing and cold therapy to be valuable for my wellbeing. I do not agree with Wim on all the Eastern conclusions but I do find it extremely important to walk in love as he points out. There is much for us human beings to learn.

Better Days & a Better Life
This book was highly recommended to me for many reasons. I’m a professional Trumpet player and music teacher, so breath control is always something I think about. But this book takes it to a whole new level!

good introduction
good introduction. however, you really need to take a face to face or video class to get deeper than the first level of the method.

Wisdom from Wim
If you already know who Wim Hof is, you may know much of his story already too. If you don't, and are curious about this remarkable man, this is as good an introduction as you're likely to find.Although I am a practitioner of his method, this review isn't a critique of whether it works or doesn't. This is a review of the book. And the book is good. An easy read, but full of so much wisdom born of experience, both positive and negative. It's hard not to feel Wim's infectious enthusiasm coming right off the page. In addition to full explanations of the three components of his method, there's also quite a bit about his life. What formed his approach, his motivation for wanting to peer into places most people tend to avoid. You'll come away knowing more about the man himself, and it may indeed motivate you to begin your own practice. This is a really enjoyable work by a genuinely unique human being. You will learn much about him, and it's entirely possible, about yourself as well. Recommended.

Very inspiring
Im working through long covid for 2 years now and my sister made me promise to read this as it really helped her husband with his health, depression and anxiety. So I got this book and dove in... after the 1st breathing session I felt noticably better as did the asthma and cranky lungs. I then got going on the cold showers and very soon cold plunges. It's all made a big difference and I'm healing faster. I was riveted reading this and his life story... so encouraging. The premise he discusses that you can use breathwork, power of the mind and cold to heal the body from sickness blew mind. It's a paradigm shift and if your searching for help this will make you stronger. Plenty of science in here, just the right mix of stories and science. One of my all time favs, I'm fixing to read again soon. Get this!

Game-changer?
There are hundreds if not thousands of books that offer overly complicated respiration techniques that promise everything from immortality, invincibility in combat to enlightenment; you only need to do them for sixty years on top of some mountain under a guru. The Win Hof Method it's easy to do and it gives results in a very short time, and Mr. Hof doesn't require your eternal devotion. It deserves five stars for its potential. But if Mr. Hof really wants to be taken seriously and to spread his findings there is a lot of labour to do. Like:It's very personal with a lot of anecdotes, and testimonials, like the old books by Eugene Sandow. It's short on instruction, more details about his methods are a must. Also there is no data on the failures. How many people got the flu or even bronchitis doing it? I'm positive that he can't have a100% success rate. Details on the problems are necessary to advance. There is almost nothing in using his method to combat the really high temperatures, he did a marathon on the desert after all.His science is speculative, we need time and a great deal of data. Please provide it in a less entertaining but more profound book.It is in any case very commendable that he gives for free most of the information on how to do things that If it were offered by an oriental martial artist, or religious healer would cost thousands and assuredly wouldn't work half as well.Buy the book, search the net and start reaching for the stars.Cheers.Peter
