"An anime-induced euphoric trip" – Carlos Aguilar, The Wrap The first feature-length film from the acclaimed studio Trigger, creators of KILL la KILL and Little Witch Academia, and director Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann), Promare is a blistering action-adventure that will set your soul on fire. Thirty years has passed since the appearance of the Burnish, a race of flame-wielding mutant beings who destroyed half of the world with fire. When a new group of aggressive mutants calling themselves Mad Burnish appears, the epic battle between Galo Thymos, a new member of the anti-Burnish rescue team Burning Rescue, and Lio Fotia, the leader of Mad Burnish, begins.

Classic studio Trigger
This review is weighted towards favoring the product itself, rather than the show. You can purchase the show digitally and see detailed reviews without the product elsewhere, therefore I believe there is more value to focus on the physical media moreso than the content of said media. The Anime: 8/10-The Good- If you like studio Trigger staff's past work, there's a ton to love here. Great, over the top animation with that exaggerated style they love, similar to Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann.- Fun story that will keep you engaged.- Sawano's music is god tier hype inducing, as always.-The Bad- Some side characters are effectively pointless and could be entirely removed with no issues.- Needed more time to flesh out characters and world building - a 12/13 episode series would have been perfect for this- Can feel almost ADHD induced. It jumps a LOT, and quickly. Not necessarily 'bad', but you definitely need to be paying attention or else you'll probably miss something crutial. The Product:-The Good- Dust cover is nice. The design and title are embossed, giving it a nice look and feel.- No back of box description spoilers or visual spoilers- Also includes the two animated short prequels Galo-hen and Lio-hen, which are about 10 minutes each.-The Bad- No reversible cover slip, however the opposite side does have very cool artwork, so I forgive this.- For me, I wish it was only bluray to cut cost a few bucks, as I would never even dream of watching a dvd in 2020 on a 4k TV.I recommend this product at a price point of 19.99 or lower.

Unique art style
I’m a big fan of Gurren Lagann, so I was really hyped for first movie from trigger studios. Although normally I disliked the use of 3D animation in anime, it’s done quite well here. Often times only special effects or moving backgrounds are rendered in 3D while characters look like they are hand drawn. The 3D animation itself is gorgeous and not burdensome with textures and strokes, but more focused on tones and colors. It’s immersive and unique. The story itself is pretty interesting, albeit kinda out there. Then again Anime tends to have some unusual premises. The characters were moderately likeable, with the English dub only being slightly annoying at times. I will be honest, I did start getting a bit bored with the plot half way through. But about 3/5ths of the way through there’s a major reveal/plot twist that changes the rest of the movie. That last 40-50 minutes was easily the best part, and felt like a well earned conclusion. 4.5/5 but amazon doesn’t let me do halves :/

This is a hot anime right here
Aside from all the homo erotic undertones and sexy bods (good job as always japan) the music and visuals are on a whole other level.I don't want to give too much away but there's a man in this who just wanted to make pizzas. He's the real hero.Reminiscent of gurren lagann in many aspects of quality but still its own original and fun story with nice subtext about acceptance and understanding.Just get it, less than $10. Saw this gem in theaters and I was hooked. 10/10Bonus: also look for the "pop up parade" figures before they sell out. They are stellar!

Amazing movie.
This movie is amazing. The English is done really well, the animation is great and so is the soundtrack. This movie is a bit like Gurren Lagann though. Which is not a surprise since it's also made by Studio Trigger. The main character is a lot like Kamina in ways of design and personality, but if you've seen Gurren Lagann you know that isn't a bad thing. My one and only issue with the movie is that the final mech suit looks way to much like Gurren Lagann. Only issue, doesn't happen till the end of the movie. Other than that great movie, watch it if you haven't.

I was misled
9/10 the gays were not as gay as people led me to believeSeriously though, it is a great movie that is certainly a trip with enough of a mix of action and plot to keep you engaged. It is not the best movie ever made, so don't overhype it or you might feel slightly let down, however it is undeniably a great film and if you don't like it then that is on your personal tastes, not the movie itself. If I was a movie critic, it would be at least 8/10, I give it a 9.

Worth Watching
I bought this considering this is made by Studio Trigger who made some good anime titles you may know like Kill La Kill and Darling in the Franxx directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi of Gurren Lagann fame. The story is about 30 years have future where unknown cosmic radiation infects humans on the planet causes them to have pyrokneist powers label as Burnish which almost caused to be Earth destroyed. This introduces the main protagonist Galo Thymos who member of the Anti-Burnish rescue team. The story is surprises you when you watch it but I can’t give you all the spoilers.Animation is not perfect you may notice they change Animation styles in the movie not everything is the same they alternate styles to mesh with the story according to the animator he explains it in the Blu-Ray in the Behind the scenes Interview which was interesting. With the alternating of animation the color and style. The Anime wasn’t boring, it made it interesting. The music and sound some what alright I wish they had a better sound track but they had to work with what they got. It’s a good buy it comes with the movie, 2 Ova’s also, behind the scenes, directors interview. It doesn’t disappoint you as a anime fan.

Obsessed
I am obsessed with this movie. I've bought it 4 times by now, and I might buy it a few more if they come out with more special editions and different box art. Even if you've never watched an anime in your life, watch this one. It will change you. The colors, the characters, the writing, the Japanese voice acting... I truly believe this is one of the greatest animated movies of all time in any language.
