Darice Crafts Bead Kit Plastic Pony Bead Mega Critters Bucket

This is a neat little bucket. There are plenty of beads to be creative with. The string is one length, so you will have to cut it, which I was fine with. This way you have more flexibility with the amount of string you use and your projects. The instructions were simple enough for my son (10) to understand and then taught his sister (5). She did a great job with it with help from her big brother. The key rings and little hooks are perfect. There are many projects to choose from. I took a picture of me holding the ones the kids did so you can see estimated size these come out to. You can always look up different ones online. I looked some up just to distinguish the colors, since the paper it came with is black and white. Overall it's a good pack to have. If there's not enough string for all the beads in the budget (which are many), that's fine - they can always use them for other crafts/projects. If your kids love crafts, this is a great little must have, especially for rainy days :)Oh, the instructions say to use 6ft (2 yards) of string for each project, but I found 4.5 ft to 5 ft is plenty. You will waste almost 2 feet of string if using 6 ft. I also found it helpful to burn the ends of the string a bit after cutting it. Otherwise trying to feed the needs through may become a bit hard to fit. You can't also use tape if you don't want to burn the ends. Hope this helps!

Item was as described. The bucket contains about 12 different colored beads. Too many pink for my liking, but the colors are FAIRLY evenly numbered. The directions contain over 35 patterns all in black and white, but does list how many beads are needed for each pattern. Color choices can be left up to the project creator. Since the patterns are in black and white, some of them are diffficult to imagine: Lady bug looks like a tear drop, so does the mouse. Perhaps when they are constructed, they will look as they should. All the other designs are more visible. The first page of the instructions clearly explain how to string the beads. My cub scout group loves to make the key chains, and this kit will give them many more designs to choose without me having to download them all from the internet.

This was a winning present for our 8-year old daughter who recently discovered pony beads. I looked quite a while for supplies at box stores and online for her to make new pony bead crafts, but that ended up being less cost effective. This kit, on the other hand, was a much better value. It comes with a variety of clips, rings, and string to make pony bead crafts. It also comes with bead pattern instructions, which wasn't clear on the package description. My daughter had received a pony bead boxed kit as a gift, which is how she became interested. I looked up that same box kit online and it was almost double the cost of this kit, yet this one came with a lot more supplies, patterns, and beads. I would definitely buy again.

Purchased these for an art table at a children at an event. The item was a draw to the crowd and the kids really enjoyed using the colorful beads. They were all of consistent quality and I found no defective items. The kit came with keys rings and also instructions to make an alligator which the adults and kids felt equally enthused about! The colors and quality of the beads were great and I would recommend this for any art table or even as a present for a child. The amount of items that can be made out of the one box seem endless!

Another gift but from the reaction of the child it will work fine. As with any item with lots of small pieces parents may not be the happiest but the kids like it. Lots of small beads and such which would limit the age of the child as the beads could be eaten with no problem so one may watch the age of the child before giving.

There is enough to do quite a few little animals. My bucket came with a lot of malformed beads though, so I'm not convinced of their quality control methods.Otherwise this was a lot of fun for me and my daughter.

Love, love, love this!!! My 3.5 year old has been enthralled for hours each day for the past three days. This could be fun for lots of ages as I am enjoying it too. There is only enough cord for 5 critters, but there are enough beads for maybe 50. We will order more cord. Still a great price for this kit.

Maybe there's something wrong with our family, but we could not make any of the animals. I am usually pretty crafty, but I couldn't get the beads to look like the shapes in the instructions, and my kids gave up pretty quickly. Other reviewers seem to enjoy this with their young children, which I can't imagine, but who knows. You do get a lot of beads and we made some necklaces, so wasn't a total bust.

The kids had so much fun with this kit! They keep asking to make more and more animals. There's not a ton of cord in the bucket so you'll probably need to get more if you intend to use most or all of the beads. I bet we got three or four animals (2 yards of cord each) out of what came in the kit. Also worth being generous with the measurement of the cord because it does fray with use and may need to be cut several times during the project (just a little off the end, though).Good variety of bead colours and very clear, easy instructions. The keychains and other little attachments seem relatively sturdy (they're not the flimsy ones which often come in these sorts of packages).Overall quite happy with the product. Would purchase again.

Good product for the money, comes with quite a few key chains and a lot of interesting design templates. Some of the patterns have a lot to be desired, either very bad design or does not make sense. Was a lot smaller container that I was expecting which is why I didn't receive 5 stars.

Was a gift for my daughters BFF. She was happy opened it right away and started making necklaces ☺️
