GERBIL LOVERS
The media could not be loaded. If you have gerbils and are looking for the perfect wheel then this is the one you need to order. I have 7 gerbils(4 males and 3 females) and I have tried so many different wheels over the years. The metal ones are either too wobbly or too low to the ground so when they dig it causes the wheel to become stuck. I tried the medium and large size of Kaytee silent spinner wheel(complete waste of money. Always had trouble with it coming off of the stand) and most plastic wheels rattle really bad and are easily chewed. This wheel is a DREAM. SO easy to assemble, COMPLETELY quiet(I don’t even hear the patter of little feet) so easy to clean, I love the clear color and it’s heavier than other wheels which means it doesn’t slide around easily or wobble when they run fast on it. I have 4 full grown gerbils( I have 2 big males and a smaller male) and then some females that are not quite a year and this wheel is perfect for all ages. They are all able to run full out and not get flung off of the wheel or have to arch their backs and no worries about tales getting caught while running. I know some people complained of it being scratched when taken out of the box but the few scratches I saw were honestly not a big deal to me because this wheel was worth EVERY penny. I spent hours reading reviews on different wheels and I almost went with the Nitrangel wheel but I decided on this wheel because it is cheaper and I didn’t need to order a medium size like on Niteangel(which is over $30) and I’m SO glad I went with this choice. I ordered 2 to see how I liked them and I am ordering 5 more. I have a pair of brothers in a 40 gallon tank and single gerbils in a 20 gallon long tanks(with a high rise tank topper on top of every cage I have) and the height of this wheel fits fine in the 20 gallon long tank. I attached a video of Chester running on it(he’s my first gerbil I bought) and I love seeing him run to his hearts content and not hearing any noise from it! My babies Chester, Timber, Winter, Vesper, Annie,Fiona and Susan all approve of this wheel and this gerbil mom is happy! 10/10 on this gem! Thank you Zacro for making something sturdy enough for gerbils and affordable for us owners!

Solid Purchase
This looked like exactly what I wanted, and it was. Very simple design on a ball bearing. Clean look that blends pretty well even into my naturalistic cage. It's perfectly silent. I'm listening now to 2 mice on it and all I hear is their paw patter echoing around the wheel. It's very sturdy. The saucer I was using previously is a lot lighter and doesn't have a very wide base, so if I wanted it to be actually stable and silent I'd have to bolt it down somehow. If you have room for this wheel, you just set it down and it works. It is pretty big; my tote cage is ~2' tall and it reaches about 2/3 of the way up. You need a big wheel in this vertical configuration so there's not too steep of a curve and too much pressure on the mouse's spine. That's why I liked the saucer initially -- more compact with a nearly flat surface to run on.Note that the walls also slope outward to the opening, so any "debris" that goes in comes right back out. The saucer has a well in the center where debris gets caught, requiring constant cleaning.I thought the slick surface might be a problem so I put some duct tape down on half the track -- turns out they prefer the smooth plastic, so I took it off. They do slide around a bit sometimes but it doesn't seem to dissuade them at all. I would've liked to see ridges for traction, but I think this would likely increase the price, and in the end I'm not sure it would make that big of a difference. What do the mice think? They were a little hesitant at first, coming from a saucer and not knowing how to run it. I didn't even realize how much they started using it because of how silent it is, but they definitely love it. I reintroduced the saucer as well and they use both. I think they like the challenge of managing the momentum of this wheel, and they probably just still feel comfortable on the saucer. There's plenty of space for 2 mice to run side-by-side, as they are wont to do.Overall, solid purchase. If this one somehow manages to get broken, I'll likely buy another. The only reason I wouldn't get this is if the design didn't match my cage and there was an alternative.

Great wheel! Hammie loves it, so do we.
This hamster wheel is very sturdy. I like the clear, simple, visual appearance. We just adopted a hammie and set up a natural enclosure. She loves this wheel! One thing we didn't anticipate was her peeing in the wheel her 1st couple of days. Eeewww gross! Thankfully this wheel is easy to clean and dry! (Thankfully she hasn't peed in it days 3 & 4, so we're hoping she just needed to adjust to the excitement of a new, fast thing that kinda took her breath away.) She runs and runs and runs this thing till she can't keep up. And it is totally silent. The only time it made noise was when it was too close to the side of her enclosure & it tapped the glass, we just pulled it away and it didn't wiggle back - substantial wide base is stable and keeps it in place. Oddly, the wheel is slightly more elliptical than perfect circle, but it is so slightly off that we didn't notice it until she started running/spinning. It doesn't seem to have a negative impact on her use or enjoyment of it or its performance - it doesn't tip or rattle or travel (move around). It was easy to assemble - our 9 year old followed the picture instructions and had no trouble (we supervised to be sure he didn't miss a step). It came with 2 mounting options: bottom base for a free standing wheel or to attach to the side of a metal cage. It even came with a two-sided screw driver (cool, another tool for his growing tool box!). This wheel is great and worth the $22 we paid on Amazon.
