Manhattan Toy Baby Stella Sweet Sounds Soft First Baby Doll for Ages 1 Year and Up, 15"

I bought this for my 18 month old toddler, and she LOVES it. I figured it was about time for her first baby doll, and this is the perfect first baby doll. It's interactive enough for her to get a giggle out of the "mama's", and suckling noises that come with giving the "baby" it's pacifier. If you're hesitant about this just throw caution to the wind, it really is an adorable doll and such a great size for my little ones hands. Only thing that is a bit off putting is the giggling, it does sound a bit scary. But maybe I just watch too many horror movies!**This is just an update on the doll**I still do adore it, as does my little one. It has stopped giggling, but the other functions still work. (Calling out mama/suckling noises). Personally I find this a plus since the giggle was a bit off putting. Otherwise my now 2 year old still adores it, we bought the baby carrier made for the baby stella doll and she walks around like a little mama all the time.

This was purchased for an 18-month-old with a new baby brother who enjoys mimicking her mom and caring for her own baby. We also purchased the Baby Stella Feeding Set Accessory for Nurturing Dolls, and she really enjoys the bottle and bib from that set. Both the bottle from that set and the pacifier (included with the doll) make a sucking noise when held to the doll's mouth, so it's a cute reinforcement that she's giving the baby what she wants.She's also at the stage where she's identifying various body parts, and she particularly loves that her baby has a belly button. Baby Stella is so much softer and nicer to cuddle than most dolls, so she became an instant favorite and constant companion. Note that you can't submerge Baby Stella in water, but she's very easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

My 9 month old loves this doll. I supervise her because the age is 12 months but she loves this doll. She hugs it and smiles real big when I push the buttons. I'm sure she will grow into this doll for years. updated 11/15/17 My 14 month old loves this doll. It is getting dirty but I use wipes to clean it. My daughter is so touched when the doll makes its sounds. Especially the pacifier to the mouth sucking sound. She loves it.

I don't recommend this version of the Stella doll. I put 4 stars because there isn't anything wrong with it, it's just not practical. When the pacifier is attached the sound continues to go off and it's a strange sucking sound in my opinion. If it went off after making it a couple times and then you could take the pacifier off and put back on to make the sound start again it would be better. If she wants to leave the pacifier on it will make the sucking sound forever. Also the battery pack is annoying because it can not be removed to wash or to not have the hard pack in her tummy. It's a cute idea and could be designed to be more practical by not having the constant sound with pacifier and being able to remove the battery pack but it's just as cute as the others and im sure most kids would be amused by the sounds so it depends on how important it is for you to be able to wash it and how your child will play with it. My daughter is almost 12 months so for us these issues are enough to stick with the original without sound.

I bought one each time a new baby was coming to introduce the sister to the new baby. I now have three - real baby great granddaughters and Baby Stellas. I also bought 5 one year and gave them to little girls I didn't know who I saw in parking lots or parks, etc., so more real babies could love more Stella babies. Very soft, durable, and well-behaved! You can't go wrong with Baby Stella.

Stella is soft, snuggly and lightweight for baby to hold. The sounds will delight your child. She says "mama", laughs and when the magnetic pacifier is placed over her mouth, you hear sucking sounds. Only wish the pacifier was attached so not wouldn't get lost.

I was so disappointed. I ordered this doll since my granddaughter's name is Stella. However, the doll pictured, Manhattan toy Baby Stella Sweet Sounds Soft is NOT the doll I received. Instead I received a brunette Stella doll that makes no sounds.

We have a few of these Stella dolls. Bought the first 2 and our daughter liked them so we decided to get this one which makes sounds. The sounds triggered by the feet and hands stopped working after 2-3 months. The doll still makes sound from the pacifier after 9 months, so I think the button trigger on the hands and feet is flimsy or the wire connecting to the battery has issues.Another downside to this doll is it can only be wiped down with a cloth whereas the other non-electronic ones can go in a washer (gentle cycle). This is important if your child ever takes their doll outside the house as it can carry germs. For that reason, we restricted this doll for home play only (which limits it).Suggest sticking with the non-electronic version which is cheaper and more practical.
