Klorane Plant-Based Purple Shampoo with Centaury, Brightens Blonde, Platinum, Silver, Gray or White Hair, Neutralizes Unwanted Yellow and Copper Tones, Paraben, Silicone and Sulfate Free

I have "salt & pepper" gray -- but the base color isn't really pepper, but medium brown, which means it can look mousy if there isn't sufficient contrast between the gray and the brown. A shampoo made for gray hair is designed to clarify -- remove mineral and other deposits from the gray so it is a true silver color. Often these shampoos have a purple or blue cast to them, and in general aren't designed to be used every shampoo or you'll end up with old lady blue hair. However, this product can be used more frequently and doesn't appear to have any dyes in it at all.I immediately loved this product. The scent is a very subtle herbal/floral -- not heavy or perfume-y at all. Like most high quality shampoos, it does not produce heavy lather, because it doesn't contain harsh detergents that create that foamy lather. The product cleans the hair without stripping it dry -- which is important with gray hair, because the wiry grays can easily get a straw-like texture with harsh shampoos.I find using this, I do not need a conditioner at all -- which is a big change for me. I always conditioned, sometimes even adding a leave-in conditioner. However, with this product, it is simply wash, rinse, repeat, then done.After towel drying my hair I use a smoothing product, followed by air or blow dry. The result, even without conditioners, is a smooth "finished" texture, and bright silver grays. I have the contrast and texture I like.This product is a little pricey, however it takes very little product to clean my hair, so I'm using less than I did with my regular shampoo (Frederick Fekkai) , and achieving a superior outcome.

I love this shampoo. I have tried lots of grey hair shampoos with promises of silky hair which never happened. They all left my hair dry and brittle. Klorane always leaves my hair soft and shiny. I love that the conditioner can be used on wet hair or as a leave in for extra conditioning.

This is not the same as the old formula, which I miss. I liked the old formula's white color, the degree of whitening, and its scent was indescribably pleasant. The new formula has some different ingredients and the addition of purple color, and the scent is not as pleasant, but really it isn't bad. New formula still freshens up my white/gray and lessens the yellow tones, but I think the old formula was better at it. The new formula makes my hair softer and less "squeaky" and tangled than the old formula. It works well with the conditioner also.

I absolutely LOVE this shampoo! I have black hair with many, many silver strands and this shampoo really cleans my hair and makes the silver shine! It is not the standard purple-toned or blue-toned colored shampoo that is for gray hair, which has a tendency to dry out the hair. This doesn't. It leaves my hair soft and manageable. It is more pearl-colored and has a nice consistency, with a soft, inoffensive smell. It does not have loads of lather, but it still works great to clean my hair. I find that if my hair is very wet and saturated, this helps the shampoo lather up and do its job of cleaning your hair. I do use a conditioner after I shampoo, but this leaves my hair so tangle-free after using that I probably don't even need to. A wide toothed comb just glides through my wet hair! It is pricey though, which is the only downside, but if used sparingly (remember to saturate your hair first) and you don't need to wash your hair everyday (I don't), this is worth the extra money to get clean, beautiful, shiny hair. If they lower the price, I plan to buy a few more to have on hand. I REALLY LOVE this shampoo! Fast shipping and well packaged.

This shampoo does what it is supposed to do. It tones down brassyness. With that being said it is not like the original white one, smells nothing like it, not a really nice smell. And it is purple! Which means I would never travel with it afraid it would stain my clothes if it leaked. Very disappointed that they stopped making the white one since it was great. Will not buy again.

So at the end of 2019 I decided to let my natural color grow in. I’m about half and half silver/grey/white and dark brown. I got a bunch of highlights and lowlights at the salon to camouflage my roots, and then just let it go for a year.My hair was looking pretty drab, so I tried some silver coloring conditioner. My coworker asked if I’d dyed it green!!! Ugh. So then I bought the Chlorane. OMG. I didn’t know what to expect, but I definitely didn’t expect all of my dry frizzy hair to smooth out! It looks so pretty and fluffy.. even all of the coarse strands that i had in the back of my hair feel like silk! I also love the color that it is now. The “greenish” hue is gone!The only things I don’t love are the scent and the price. The scent is not bad, it’s like a jasmine smell, I just don’t like florals. And the bottle is tiny, but I will continue to purchase as long as it keeps my hair looking like this :)

I have used the white version of this shampoo for years, even had a subscription. I tried this new version since it seems as though they stopped making the white version just to give it a shot (very unhappy they made it purple) and they have ruined a wonderful product. The scent is different, not bad but not as good. It does not lather like the last version and it makes my hair feel rough, no longer has that softness to it. Finally, the most important part, its not nearly as silver as it was when I washed it with the white version. I will no longer be using this product until they bring back the original white version. I did call Klorane to provide this feedback and the rep did state they were sending it back to the marketing dept. I encourage anyone that reads this and is not happy, to call customer service and voice your feedback. Maybe if enough of us do it, they will bring back the wonderful product they had. This is purple stuff is crap. They had such a good thing and now its gone.

This shampoo is just wonderful. It lathers well, has a delightful scent and leaves my hair clean and soft. It does seem to enhance the silvery tones in my hair - the effect is subtle, but nonetheless I can see a slight difference with regular use over time of this shampoo. My hair is naturally thick and coarse with a tendency to being frizzy - but this shampoo leaves it feeling manageable! I thoroughly recommend this product.

Excellent product for grey hair. Keeps the grey/silver shiny and clean although I do have to use a conditioner to make sure the hair is not dry. It does not leave any "purple" residue like the rest of the grey-hair products and smells fresh!Highly recommended.
