I recently purchased the blackout shades and they seem to be work effectively already (it’s only been a week). Two months ago my electric bill was 398.00, I live in Florida, and this past month it was 333.00 and all I did was keep blinds closed 100% of the time. Now I want to see if the cost will decrease again with the blackout shade.

Pros: Good quality fabric material and color selection to block the heat of the sun. Cons: When trying to hang this fabric between space of skylight and heat vortex: the suction cups (which you manually push through the grommets) slipped out and now stuck to skylight and don't fit material properly. Suggestion for company is to have suction cups permanently attached to material to prevent slipping from grommets and for easier installation.

Size is spot on. Very very dark. No light can get through the curtain. Exactly what I wanted and needed. The suction cups are easy to use and make it easier to install. Would definitely recommend this product.

REVISED REVIEW: Not HappyWell at first I really thought they were great. However, after two months of climbing on a ladder every few days to reattach them to the skylight, I’m not happy. The suction cups barely stay in the grommets, and they lose their grip if there is rain or humidity. I could have stapled fabric to the frames and saved $40.

I bought this for my skylight window, because the sun is always on my bedroom, which yes is very nice, but in the summ and it gets extremely warm! This shade is definitely helping!! Keeps the light out and my room cooler!

I am beyond dissatisfied with these. The suction cups DO NOT hold well at all. I am on my ladder daily reapplying one of the corners. The fabric itself does a great job of keeping the sun out but now I have to glue them to the glass! I would return them but this is really the only alternative to tint.

We have this one one half of a window, it doesn’t cover the entire half so we can still open it a few inches when needed. Even covering just 1/2 the window with this makes the room dark enough for our child to sleep. The existing blinds don’t make an actual curtain possible, this has been an excellent solution for us. Suction cups work amazingly, be sure to wipe a little water around the cup first.

I bought this to block a skylight in my bedroom (I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to install a skylight 10 feet from a city lamp post). The shade itself works amazing. No light at all comes through.I’m giving four stars because the suction cups are difficult to put on. I gave up and just sandwiched the shade between the window and the screen. I held it in place with two spare tension rods.Maybe I was missing something though. If you can deal without the suction cups, I absolutely recommend this shade.
