Monstrum is a survival horror game which comes in cartridge form. On the positive side the controls are simple, intuitive and responsive, the level design is random and different each time you play whilst there are a variety of different monsters which will remorselessly hunt you down. The lighting is actually good, so you can actually see what you’re doing in the dark unlike many horror games on a handheld where you can’t see a thing. The game is also intense and will make your heart beat just that little bit fasterOn the downside. The game lacks any real storyline, the graphics are rather bland and it is really hard, get hit once and it’s pretty much lights out!Overall I would say Monstrum is a decent experience but be warned, if you’re a casual player like me you’ll find it virtually impossible to get anywhere and quickly become frustrated, but if you think you’re good and can take on the various beasts then it’s certainly worth a shot
