the description is misleading but the product is good
The description that these are primarily used for climbing is misleading. These foot claws should not be used to climb in the traditional sense. They are better used to help gain a foothold and then propel you upward. That is how ninja used them and it is how they should be used today. They may help in ice and snow to help you from losing your footing. Overall a good product but they must be used properly.

don't fit well nor help climb trees
these were a looked-forward to birthday gift for our son. they did not work well for us at all.they are designed to be fastened to the bottom of one's shoe by tying laces over the top of one's shoe. They are not very secure and slip off--yes, the tighter you fasten them, the better they hold, but it is not fool-proof. Worse, they really don't bite into tree trunks well. Certainly not in the way we expected. It wore our son out and his dad. they gave up, and we will return them. I see some people thought they worked okay. They did not for us.

neat
I don't use them for climbing trees or walls, just for looks and a interesting conversation piece. 20 years ago I bought a pair and they always slipped off or slide around the side of my foot. I manged to use them after weaving para cord around them and my foot and ankle. still cool to have.

Not happenin
Ok let's be honest about these... No way in all of hell are you going to climb something with these. They look cool, the metal's very sturdy, the spikes are relatively sharp and could be sharpened more... The foot spikes may work if there was a better way to strap them to your feet, but the hand claws would crush your hand bones under your own weight, no way someone's going to climb with these. Better off with your bare hands.

Great with jika-tabi
The laces are a little too short, so they need to be replaced with longer ones. I have only tried to climb a tree once with these with no luck. They kept slipping off of my shoes. I have since bought some jika-tabi, but I have not had the chance to try them with those shoes.
