Literature (SparkNotes 101)

I highly recommend for all who plan to have or have an MA in English!I wanted to study up on literature not only for the major but also for the teacher exams. This book has the intro into the authors of each novel or play, themes, characters, plot overviews, and famous qoutes. There are 500 novels/plays in this book! My copy of this was bought as a used copy and the cover suffers minor cosmetic but the pages were beautifully intact-almost like brand new. No markings of any kind. I feel like I just received a gold mine with this book. Concise, short, and informative this is a great tool for all English literature lovers and majors!

I bought this because I joined a writers group and I felt a little stupid when some authors were mentioned. I knew the names but not their works. This has LOTS of books' synopses. It likely has the details you'll remember 10 years after getting out of school. I have only read a few and I feel smarter and can fake being well read.

I have three kids in high school and this book has saved me from some listening to some major whining. It has a ton of books, stories, etc. in there with guidance for the kids to help with homework. Things that I NEVER picked up on are spelled out easily for us all to understand. I highly recommend this book.

Bought thinking I may need to use as a reference tool in my teaching plans but educatiom has moved from a literature approach to a skills approach
