Handy item for puppy if used within its limits
I would not use this for an actual gate, most puppies would annihilate it pronto. My use for it is, I keep him penned up sorta on the landing going to my basement, I have a traditional expandable wood gate barring him from the basement, and a door that keeps him out of the kitchen. He has a nice bed on the landing, and does most of his sleeping and timeouts there.Problem is, I have a food pantry with shelves, for stuff like cereal, noodles, rice ect. He started ripping up everything within reach, so I stretched it across the pantry to protect the lower shelves and it works great, can't really sink his teeth into the mesh and he pretty much gave up trying. Only thing I wish is that the string "latches" in all 4 corners were elastic instead of rigid, its tough to make it a tight fit yet easy to get off when I want to access the protected shelves, may modify it myself. So this can make a decent blocker or area denial in some situations, couldn't see using it as a gate, especially for a German Shepard, he is working on shredding the wooden one.

Wont keep the smallest pet out
We have a chorkie and he was able to push up under the screen and still get through. Returning it.

Great for small dogs with low energy
I have a GSD puppy (he’s only 5 months old) and 2 cats. He gets into a lot so I was hoping these would keep him out of rooms. If I put them at the same height as a plastic gate he can purge his way through. He can somehow get through on the side of the doors, even with over hang and the metal rods inserted.Honestly they worked great for a few weeks. He saw the barrier and accepted defeat, but one day his prey drive was just a little too strong and he went head first through the barrier ripping one side clear off the wall. Since then he’s found every way around it (accept jumping over it.)It’s a great idea, fairly easy to install, the really mean it when they say don’t put it on a surface that can peel paint…it just doesn’t work great for a 30lb train with problem solving skills.

Only on some dogs
We have used people baby gates in the past. I saw this as a solution for our brand new baby puppy pom. We have an ausie and another larger pom. The two older pups never challenged the mesh gate and it worked for the puppy for a while, but the smart little booger did finally figure it out and the gates became completely un-useful. Being a puppy, he bit at the mesh and then he would pull it and figured out how push his head through the side and being so small pushed his way through. For the price I would say its worth trying, but there was one problem. The sticker hooks were supposed to come off without hurting the wall, but when we found that this was not our solution I tried to take the sticker hooks off and the paint and some drywall came with it. So my advice would be to get some of the 3M sticker hooks also and use them as opposed to the hooks that come with so that you can at least take them off if the solution ends up not working.

Don't use the hooks. They WILL damage your paint.
It didn't work that well, it's flimsy and out kitten had no trouble figuring out how to get underneath or around it.the hooks are bad news. just don't use it. Use something with 3M branded instead.

Not as strong as expected
Easy to put up. However I have a naughty puppy who tried to jump over the gate causing it to collapse on itself. More suitable for well behaved dogs and small puppies

I definitely would not recommend
This was bought to keep my puppy in one room....it lasted one day, his claws went straight through it

Flimsy rubbish
Liked the ease of assembly but bitterly disliked the strength (lack of), got 2 to limit my dog roaming around in the house but she chewed and also just ran under it- no good.
