The sound coming out this mic is really good!
used this mic to connect to a studio ran by a computer and the sound is very clear, it was pretty easy to put all the attachments together

Sing to your hearts content!
Obviously not the flashiest or most expensive mic out there, but this mic does a great job at capturing the voice accurately on a budget price. It's nice that it offers the 20db pad and the high pass filter, but I rarely find myself needing to use them. I have even used this single mic to capture both vocals and guitar at the same time, and as long as you know the basics of how to place one of these puppies, it did a fantastic job.I would definitely buy again, although I likely won't have to because this thing feels built to last forever.

Great deal for the price
I bought a 120 and a 220. I should have got two of the 220. Great mic for the price and takes a high SPL in front of a guitar amp. If you need a little more high end that's why we have equalizers. Good solid work horse and includes the shock mount that the 120 did not. The 120 is a good mic and reminds me more of an SM57 and has a nice sound of trumpet and sax.

Really very good sound, mike works on and off, shock mount sucks, and very poor outside finishing
This mike at one point sounded really good: creamy, warm, detailed, and non-metalic--specially for the price. However, the one I have will not properly work anylonger. Now, as I turn it on, it starts working fine, only for two seconds later, as someone begins singing, to suddenly drop the sound level and become totally dull. It seems that one of its electronic components has some type of intermitent flaw that can't handle more than two seconds of continuous opperation. Too bad, for the quality of the sound it produced--when it worked--was, however, really nice. Two other quality flaws: the shock mount is not to be taken seriously--mine fell apart in at least six or seven pieces, as if its metalic structure were out of sand or a chocolate cookie. Never witnessed metal stuff desintegrate this way. The third flaw is the external finishing coat of the bluesh metalic body. Within a week or two, several scratches could already be seen on it, which is also quite disapointing in a so-presented "professional" microphone. Best regards to all from Brazil! Peace! ClaudioUpdate as of February 6th, 2014 (as I upgraded my previous review, seen above, from two to four stars):After reading further material on the extreme fragility of condenser microphones (and poundering that we might have banged our old one here and there), we decided to give it a second try and bought a new item of the very same AKG Perception 220. In all honesty, its quality is indeed really good within its price range. I compared it side-by-side against the Sure Beta 58A (a dynamic mike). The AKG delivered a much fuller, creamier, warmer, richer sound. My son recorded several takes on both mikes and I was able to clearly discern the AKG condenser mike samples from the Sure dynamic ones--the AKG recordings being unanimously considered the best between the two groups. But again, if one is using to perform live in a show, it may not be wise to go with a super fragile condenser mike. Very best to you all! Claudio

Fantastic sound quality, a must have.
I can't speak with much experience behind me but here's what I can say; I set out to start my recording hobby with a budget of $250, and after reading every review on every site on every mic, I finally decided after months of research on this one..and I do not regret it! Quite simply, it does what a microphone was meant to do..it records the sound like you hear it, a nice clean slate ready for mixing or just as is.Here's what I've noticed about this guy;-it's got some weight to it, 'does not feel cheap at all-the switches make getting the right sound a breeze-the blue color is just cool..-the XLR connection is sturdy-it's got to be worth at least twice it's price-the shock-mount is metal and strong and locks the mic onto it-the mount also has an adapter in it for a smaller mic stand or somethingI recommend this to anyone on a budget, any podcaster, guitarists..vocalists..anything. I plan on completing my Perception collection with the rest of the line and I suggest you start yours here!..I also recommend a Mogami XLR cord to go with it, I got mine from MusiciansFriend.com becuase I read some scary counterfeit reviews on here and didn't want to risk it. I run the P220 through the Mogami to an ART USB Dual Pre..I think that's a great setup for a beginner.

Great microphone for it's price.
O.K, it's been about a year since I've purchased this microphone. Had enough time to fool around with it and record a bunch of different instruments with it (acoustic guitars, electric guitars, vocals and so on).I have to say that for the price it's a decent microphone. Obviously not the best one out there but if paired with a decent preamp (I'm using the Golden Age Project Pre73) and can actually handle just about anything you throw at it.It was easier to record vocals than the guitars prior the purchase of the preamp, but I think that still does a wonderful job at capturing a full image of what you're trying to record.Bottom line - great microphone for it's price!

Upgraded perception 200
I know little about specific microphone sounds. I bought a perception 200 in about 2006 to do some home recordings, and it did a great job for many of them. I was about to drop a lot of cash to get a second condenser mic to serve as a second overhead for drums, but after reading reviews, the 220 had a lot of positive feedback, and I wasn't going to be extremely picky with the final result either.I got the 220, and, like the 200, it came in a sturdy, foam padded case with a shock mount. Immediately I used it as a drum overhead and then did all vocal tracks with it as well and it sounds crystal clear.Only downside is it's a bit hefty, so you need to properly balance mic stands to keep movement to a minimum.

Produto muito bom. Atendeu minhas expectativas
