Great Diaper Pail - Here's HOW to make it even BETTER!
This pail is pretty good and priced right, but I made it EVEN BETTER for an extra couple dollars.HERE'S HOW1. Open the lid and remove the cup2. Remove the useless fake coin "deodorizer" and throw in the trash (that's where it belongs)3. Use a drill and drill evenly spaced 1/2" or 5/8" holes in the cup, so it looks like a whiffle ball. (see pics)4. Get some old pantyhose (with no holes in the toes)5. Pour in some activated carbon pellets in the toe of the pantyhose to make a "ball" that will fit in and fill up your drilled cup. This carbon is perfect: Marineland PA0371 Black Diamond Activated Carbon, 10-Ounce, 283-Gram5. Cut off the top of your "pantyhose ball" and tie a knot in it. Make sure it completely fits inside the cup of the diaper pail.6. Put the "pantyhose carbon ball" filled cup back onto the diaper pail (see pics)VOILA! You now have a SUPER odor-absorbent insert that I have found reduces the stinky diaper smell to almost nothing! If you want to add a little more mask to any smells, you can use scented kitchen garbage bags. If you feel that the smell returns, just make another activated "pantyhose carbon ball" and place it in the cup. I have been using the same "pantyhose carbon ball" with over 11 months of worth of stinky diapers from 2 babies and I still do not have any stink from the diaper pail. The carbon will last a LONG time! (Caveat: Obviously you will have an odor when you open the pail, but when it is closed, the carbon absorbs the odors and the pail releases no odor.)Check out the accompanying pictures for a visual on how I did this. I hope this helps! ENJOY!

Love it!
The reviews seem pretty hit or miss on this thing. I needed something to contain dog poop smell from my patio. We take the poop out to the dumpster every night, but it would smell throughout the day as we kept it in a larger bag by the door. Enter this container. The price is right (twenty bucks, awesome) and it works as functioned. I found that I liked the deodorant disk, such a cool feature and the one it comes with works just fine for me. Now I have three dogs, two of them boxers and their poop SMELLS. Plus I get a lot of it. I noticed an immediate difference after I started storing the poop in this bin. I have also now been able to cut down my dumpster trips from every night to every few nights because this container contains the smell for that long! Maybe even longer, but I haven't tested it yet. I didn't buy any special bags for this...I just clamped the handles of a grocery bag inside and have been putting the dog poop (in those little poop bags) into the grocery bag inside the container. Works great!

Great can with two irritating shortcomings
This thing is excellent for the price, no doubt. The reasons I chose 4 instead of 5 stars are twofold: the obnoxiously difficult to remove sticker on the entire front of the can, and the pitiful excuse for a deodorizer included in the massive deodorizer capsule. The sticker runs the full height of the can and is adhered with the kind of sticker glue that makes it impossible to remove cleanly. If you don't want an ad for Safety 1st in your living room/baby room/etc, prepare to spend an inordinate amount of time and volume of GooGone to get it cleaned up. This is such a simple fix too: they should just use the static adhesive that is so common on other products so that it removes cleanly. The deodorizer tablet is the bigger gripe though, as it does absolutely nothing. As another reviewer noted, a pair of pantyhose and some activated carbon is all you need to fix the problem, but it can't be that much more expensive for Safety 1st to include a functional deodorizer in the box (or lower the price and not include one at all). Seems like they could even have an accessory that they could sell on the side by deeming the carbon filters as "consumables" and selling replacements.Despite those gripes, the can holds a ton of diapers, the bag is super easy to remove once it's full, and it does a decent job of containing the stink (my complaints about the deodorizer is the jet of barely-masked excrement smell that shoots out when you open the smaller pop top lid). Given the Coronavirus lockdown, I'm glad to have this in our now-frequently used living room instead of the tiny open can we were using before!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
LOVE LOVE LOVE! We’ve had this for over a year and I love that it doesn’t need special bags. Functionality is self explanatory and very easy to remove bags. Very easy to clean. Only complaint is the smell. I’d recommend deodorizers which you can put in the small compartment. Nice durability!

Best diaper pail!
We received this as a present when my 3rd was born and immediately fell in love! There’s no device to stick your hand through unlike the diaper genies! You open the top with a click and there’s a round opening to put the diaper in. The button on top is not hard to push at all but isn’t too easy that when we eventually have a more mobile baby he will get into it.On the bottom of the lid Is a dome shape, where you can put in a deodorizer to keep it smelling fresh. After almost 5 months of use, we’ve never used it. Unless we leave the lid open, we’ve never run into an odor. Now the BEST part, you can use regular bags! No need to spend a ridiculous amount of money on those specific refills where you have to cut it off at a certain length and tie. Go get a basic garbage bag and you’re set!We ended up buying a second one for the bedroom as this was located in our living room for changes. I highly recommend, you won’t be sorry.
