Best Blu-Ray Version Of A Film I Have Ever Seen
If you have a special place in your heart for this film by George Lucas, purchasing the Blu-Ray version is literally a love letter to yourself. During the opening scene of the DVD, I could not believe my eyes how clear and bright the film transfer was. The folks behind this version are to be commended for their efforts, because the end user is given such a wonderful DVD to enjoy. The sound quality is wonderful, and it simply takes me back to when American Graffiti was originally released in the mid1970's. Do not hesitate to purchase this Blu-Ray version. Worth every penny!

One of the GREATS
Did not have this in my DVD collection so I got me a copy. It's not a cheap knock-off and plays and sounds good. How can you beat $6?

Beautiful Transfer
Universal Studios does an outstanding job on transferring their movies to 4K. American Graffiti is another example. The film has never looked or sounded better. Also has a good making of documentary included. I saw it at the theater (more than once) upon its initial release and it didn't look this good back then. So far all of Universal's 4k upgrades have been reference quality video transfers. I hope to see many more of Universal classic films being upgraded to Ultra HD.

Love this movie
At the start I was disappointed with the quality. I was expecting better from 4K. But after getting into the movie I completely forgot about the quality and enjoyed it for what it is a cinematic masterpiece.

The 1960s of More American Graffiti - a time of much change: war, protest, and uncertainty
More American Graffiti is the follow-up to the wildly successful film American Graffiti. While it may seem to be a sequel in many ways, it is a very different story and type of film. The first film American Graffiti reflects America more of the 1950s than the late 1960s, and this film provides a transition to that very different place. Many historians see the first part of the 1960s as closer to the post-World War II period and 1966 as a sea-change year. All was different after that time. So it is with this movie. It tells four 60s’ New Year’s Eve stories:1. John Milner’s last day racing - a 1950s-era story that ends with his death in 1964.2. Terry “The Toad” Field’s time in Vietnam ends with his missing in action in 1965.The first two outcomes were told at the end of American Graffiti3. Debby Dunham’s story of flower children and the San Francisco scene in 19664. Laurie Henderson Bolander and Steve Bolander’s transition to a new America as they deal with the anti-war protests of the later 1960s and the emergence of new feminism in 1967.Stories 3 and 4 are more open ended with an uncertainty of what was to come, just as it was in reality as the 1960s ended.Visually the first and last stories are told in a reasonably straightforward manner. Terry’s Vietnam story seems ripped off the TV screen as it shows the impact of the war and how it changed the men who fought it. Debby’s story is more psychedelic with split-screen and experimental photography as befits the summer of love era.In addition to the principlesRon Howard as StevePaul Le Matt as JohnCharles Martin Smith as TerryCindy Williams as LaurieCandy Clark as DebbieSome the first cast appear in cameo roles:Mackenzie Phillips as CarolWolfman Jack’s voiceas Disc JockeyBo Hopkins as JoeManuel Padilla Jr.as CarlosHarrison Ford as Bob FalfaCurt Henderson – Richard Dreyfus-- is missing as he fled the draft and moved to Canada. The 1960s held two very different times. The early 1960s of a traditional post-war America and the later period of war, protest, and the emergence of women’s rights.America was still too close to the war era when the movie was released to appreciate this treatment. From 40 years out, it presents a darker tale than the first movie. If there is any criticism that applies to the film, it seems to jump around too much between the four stories. Visually the print in blu ray is crisp and vibrant, and the sound is excellent. Since both graffiti movies feature music, this is important. For those who loved the first movie, I highly recommend this film. Not all stories end in a happy manner. So it was in the 1960s.

Never looked or sounded better
This is not a review about the movie...rather than the technical attributes.I have this movie on VHS, DVD , Blu-Ray , now this new 4K release. In short, it's never looked better...and almost as important, it's never sounded better. The movie is almost non-stop music, so that's important.First the picture: yes, there's some grain, but this film is over 50 years old. But the picture is vibrant and colorful, and not just on the close-ups.The audio in previous releases has always been tinny and lacked depth and fidelity. This new 4K release is a dramatic improvement in the sonics of these early rock masterpieces that contribute so highly to the enjoyment of the film.So...buy this early George Lucus masterwork because this is as good as it can look and sound.

Import Blu-ray Disc Review
If you haven't seen this, it's a fun film from George Lucas's early days as a director (it's his second movie, after THX 1138, and introduced audiences to Harrison Ford before Lucas's next film, some obscure space fantasy...)The disc itself is decent. There are a few soft-focus long shots, but that's likely more to do with how it was shot. For the most part it's nice and crisp, looking how a film on the format should. There aren't many extras, but it does include the feature-length making of doc, which is very nice indeed, even if it is in 4:3 SD resolution.
