If you do lose tension it will likely be from the moving or bending of the posts over time. If this happens simply tighten up the hardware. Remember when you use 8 steel cables under tension this will put a fair amount of stress on the wood posts, so make sure the posts are VERY solidly mounted.

Q: One customer review mentions these screws rusting after a couple of weeks. Has anyone else had this problem? How do they seem to hold up?

After a month and several heavy rainfalls in the lower southern states, we have not encountered any issues. It was very easy to install once we had the perfect template for drilling holes. We did over 1000 ft of marine grade cable. We did eight (8) rows - 3 1/2 inches apart. Am very glad that we bought the post protectors for a more finished look.

Q: Can I install this lag screws on the anglestairs or it's good only for straight?

You have to screw the device into wood at the angle you want the cable to be, otherwise it is a straight lag and cable connection.

Q: Step 2 of the installation says to crimp with "#4 dies". Nearly all dies I've seen are measured in mm. So what size is a "#4 die"?
