Great Book, should be used as the go to text book for any gaps in technical knowledge. Some elements are outdated but it still helps to provide a good understanding from which to progress from. Worth the money.

Fantastic reference resource when I was self-building/converting. As a non-builder/tradesman I needed a simple reference of all the processes and build-ups, jargon etc. used by my architect and builder as well as a resource to use to lookup *possibilities*; how problems could be solved or what cheaper alternative solutions are available. I've since bought a copy for a mate who's also self-building.

A comprehensive overview of building techniques, well worth buying as a reference book for the keen builder. Could do with more information on weight/volume conversion ratios for materials - eg sand, rock, gravel etc, but very useful nonetheless.
