Great emergency/camping food
I have supply of Mainstay bars that are coming to the end of their shelf life in a few months. I opened one package and shared it with my kids. My 13 year old said it was okay. My 3 year old tried it and walked away. I searched for another option and found these. I bought a smaller package first. We opened a few flavors to try. My kids will eat them (a few reviews said that they were too hard to bite into but my 3 year old had no problem eating these). I had to hide them from my 13 year old who has sensory issues. The flavors are mild and sweet, but a little bit dry. The big thing is my kids will eat them. I put some in our BOB and some mixed in with some stored dehydrated food to supplement that for emergencies. I will throw out the Mainstay bars in a few months, but these will be eaten before their expiration date.I bought some more. The first batch came from Amazon and was prime shipping eligible. I received all of the flavors. I bought two more batches which did not come through Amazon. The package was damaged and had only 66 bars. I blame USPS for that, not the seller. It contained raspberry, blueberry, apricot, vanilla, orange and cherry flavors - there were no coconut or lemon flavors. Since I am reviewing the product and not the seller, I am leaving my 5 star rating. Just be aware that if you don't buy from Amazon, you may not get all of the flavors.

these are excellent.
While I'd rather be able to pick my flavors, as I have a strong preference for a few of them over the others, I must say I am confused with some of the reviews. These are not snack bars. These are not every-day meal substitutions (although I suppose they can be). They are dense, energy bars with a heavy vacuum seal and a relatively long (5 year) best-by date.If you want a snack of chewy raisins and oatmeal, or a crunchy peanut butter granola bar - buy 4 of those at the grocery store for the same calorie count. If you want compact energy that tastes ok, lasts a long time, and is value-priced, to supplement a survival and preparedness food plan, these are excellent.

Excellent Food Bars for Emergencies
I ordered these for our emergency car kits as well as our 72-hour Bug out Bags. Our family eats primarily a raw vegan diet, but after realizing that in an emergency it would be very difficult to find fresh raw food, I ultimately decided to use these bars for our kits. Also a bar is easier to eat then boiling water for dehydrated food. The fact that these bars last for 5 years and can withstand the heat and cold of the car was very appealing. These are not going to be the healthiest type of foods, but they do provide essential calories in emergency situations. I do not intend to eat them unless there is an emergency because of my personal diet.I have ordered the Millennium bars a number of times as we have built out our emergency bags. We have younger children. One day I found that most of the bars were missing from our 72-hour kits. This became an opportunity to explain to our children why we have 72-hour kits and of the importance of food being in the kits in times of emergencies. Consequently, I can report that our children really enjoyed the bars. Recently we were travelling and they became hungry so we decided to see how satisfied they would be just eating the bars. In a period of 8 hours they had 3 each and really like them. I really like how well packaged these bars are, in single meal sizes, and that there are different flavors. I have tried Mainstay Food rations, but found they were not properly sealed and had to return them. We also have some Datrix food ration bars which are probably on the same order as these, but are in a single brick for the day. I prefer the individual sealed portions, but that is just a personal preference. These are excellent food ration bars for emergencies. If I were hiking I would choose healthier bars to eat, but those types of bars don't last that long especially with the hot and cold temperatures in the car. That is why these are perfect in a car emergency bag.

Delicious
Just received mine. I tried the apricot first. These are really good. They're more like a cookie than a regular energy bar. With 18 grams of fat in each I'm going to have to be careful to not eat them all lol

14,000 calories. 36 bars = 7 days + 1 extra bar @2000 cal/day
12 Rasperry 12 Orange 6 Coconut 3 Vanilla 3 BlueberryOverall not impressed with 123CloseOut's variety. I have purchased multiple orders of this item over the years and they gave me the least variety. When amazon has them in stock I get 6 of each usually, and I get tropical fruit, lemon, apricot, cherry in the mix. Make sure you pick a good vendor. Little did I know 123CloseOut was going to be the worst shipper, but they didn't put any protection and some of the vacuum sealed bars were beat together and got exposed to air. They also gave me whatever they didn't like and that's not nice either.More so on the product. 400 Calories x 36 bars = 14400 total calories, divided by 2000 calories per day is 7.2 days. 2000 calories = 5 bars per day. So eat one bar every other hour for 10 hours to stay full feeling and you have a week of food. 7 days = 35 bars, but there's 36 in the pack. So that means you have a week of survival food and you even get to try one... Pretty much sugar and crisco with some flavoring, but it's calories for when the crap hits the fan or long hikes through Appalachia. When you look for survival food, always count calories. That's all that matters. Serving sizes are a lie. One more point I'd like to hit... you can stock up on a years supply of food, but how much water do you have...? 3 days without water, 7 days without food, 11 days without sleep... Check your priorities.
