A VERY GOOD LARGE, STURDY BINDER
The 'Cardinal 12122 Premier Easy Open 11"X17" Binder' is a very sturdy, workhorse of a binder. It not only appears to be well made, or mine does, but it feels substantial to the hand. It seems mine will stand-up to heavy, sometimes outside conditions - not saying it can or should get wet. It is my feeling this binder will last till I no longer need it, around 8 to 10 years. It, to me, is a very good buy, especially for the money. My ONLY complaint is it has no pockets. None on the front or the back cover. I almost purchased a binder of this size that did have two pockets. It, however, felt flimsy and much lighter-weight than does this large binder. People working out of their office, as well as those working IN their office ALWAYS have a need for a pocket or pockets. Pockets would have been such an inexpensive addition, says I, it is a real shame one or two were not included on this sturdy, large binder.Otherwise, who could ask for more from a huge binder like this one?

Poor executed design results in prepetually torn pages
The 3 binder posts do not align properly when closed, due in part to the very weak spring used to close the posts. As a result there is a slight gap in all 3 binder posts when they are closed which tears the pages as they pass by. Once torn, of course the pages fall out of the binder. This binder is useless unless all pages have the annular plastic reinforcements applied to the holes.

Cosmetic Nightmare
The binder seems sturdy. Ring mechanism works fine. All I've done with it so far is put a handful of sheet protectors into it. The seams are all intact. The insides of the cover are bubbled up, so I wouldn't use it for professional displays. (I may try to iron it!)

Portfolio Binder
I used this to construct a portfolio of architectural drawings for school, but it would also become my professional portfolio for trying to find a job. It's a nice, simple, professional looking binder. It's got a nice length (extends beyond the length of 11x17 sleeves, which of course are longer than 17"--I used these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LXZRAA/), it uses a nice set of rings with a little easy open tab, and a small clear pouch on the spine for sliding in a name or logo or something. The only thing I question is it's durability--I'm sure if it's handled carefully there won't be any problems, but I speculate that if it's dropped or something then the sheathing at the corners might split and start peeling back, since the cover seems to be constructed similarly to like cheap Wal-Mart binders or what have you.Overall, it's a solid purchase that fulfills its purpose. Of all the portfolios my instructor received, he liked the presentation of mine the most and was recommending to the other students to look into getting a similar binder.

Multi purpose binder
This is a well made notebook with an easy 3 ring opener. An extra large size of 18x11.5 with a slim 1.5 spine. It can be used for legal papers but it serves me well for all my individual world country maps. Highly recommend.

Safe place for old records
We had old records going back to 1920 that's were falling out of the book they were in, we needed something new. Unfortunately the style of the older book was unavailable, but this one did the trick.

Dont' buy!
I bought one of these despite seeing some reviews saying they arrived split at the seams. The first one I got was in fact split at the top of the spline on the inside. So I sent it back for a replacement. The replacement had the same problem! The plastic they make these from is just of too poor quality. My guess is that even minor temperature changes causes the plastic to split at the seams. These things are worthless. If you start out with one that is split, you know if even under minor use it will just fall apart in no time.

Wrong product Order
So the sturdiest and value for money are both really good for the product. My problem is that I ordered an 1inch binder and received a 3inch (I double checked that I did indeed submit the 1inch qualification). This is for a college portfolio that has to be 1inch. So therefore the first time I submitted to replace item no big deal. I just received my replaced item and I was sent another 3inch. I enjoy the structure of it but not useful being the wrong product.
