Good Lord, if I hadn't bought these things when ...
This is my fourth purchase from Origami now. I now have a large rack in my room for holding a bunch of my stuff, a book-shelf style rack, a short, 3-shelf style rack that I put my clothing on, and now this desk. Good Lord, if I hadn't bought these things when it was time to move out of my apartment, I don't know how I would have been able to move on my own. These are a godsend while moving. Everything folds up neatly into a small space and fits in elevators, tight corners, and doorways without issue. On to talking about the desk specifically though, this is a pretty basic desk by desk standards. Simply a flat surface and then a long shelf below to place a PC tower or whatever else you prefer. It's simple and clean. Most importantly however, it, like the vast majority of Origami's products, can fold up into a narrow space. This is a two-part process of taking off the top surface and then folding up the frame underneath, but far, far easier than trying to move your desk out of the way or disassembling it for renovation purposes or simply just to create some extra space for a while. As usual, I tend to dream of keeping the things I place on it as low as possible so I can quickly fold it up when I want to but I tend to end up relying on it in its deployed state and fill it with stuff. It holds it all as well as you would expect a desk that didn't collapse to, and as far as Origami products go, this is the most aesthetically pleasing one.Although I give it a five star review, sometimes I encounter weird manufacturing defects after receiving Origami products. Sometimes two halves of a shelf don't line up great or something wasn't welded properly, or a shelf is somewhat bowed so that if you press down on it, it pops like the pressure seal on jar of jelly. Considering the price and functionality, I don't really mind these, but if you're looking for a work of perfection, I would expect some minor defects somewhere. However, they are otherwise amazingly sturdy, made of a well-coated metal, not incredibly expensive, and frankly it's hard to believe they're as well made and stable as they are despite being collapsible.

Origami has a winner! Truly the best option for any kind of portable/stowable full-size desk
First off, this thing comes in a really big box, just as a heads up. I quickly realized why this is. When I first received it I was worried by the damage to the outside box: there were some scuffs and dents on the cardboard, nothing too bad (and honestly in the grand scheme of things to be expected). As I began un-boxing it, I realized I had nothing to be worried about. The two parts of the desk were covered in separate boxes within the outside box. The desk top was inside of one of those Styrofoam sheets with heavy Styrofoam around the edges and corners. The desk was in perfect condition. Getting it out of the box and all its protection took longer than actually setting up the desk. All of my latches were in perfect working condition and everything snapped into place. The desk is very sturdy, not what one would expect from a portable style desk. I bought this as a computer desk to use at a temporary residence. I needed a high quality desk for my desktop computer but I did not want to invest in something I would need to assemble and then painstakingly relocate. This desk is above and beyond awesome for that purpose. Plenty of working space, high quality surfaces, portability, and a clean, open look make this thing an easy 5 stars.Summary:Pros:-Large working surface-Easy assembly-Portability-Very Sturdy-Nice open design making it easy to run wires and such-Great all around desk, especially if it needs to be moved easily.Cons (if I absolutely have to find some):-Price: I personally contemplated buying it for some time because of the price, I have since changed my opinion now that I have it. It is well worth the money, but others looking at this product might be deterred.-No storage: of course there aren't any drawers or cabinets, it's a fold up desk. However, for someone shopping for a desk that could be considered a con so I'll go ahead and mention it.Final Thoughts: I am a mechanical engineer and as such I really appreciate a good product design. Origami has really done it here, the desk is simple, functional, and still looks good. The structural design is also quite clever in my opinion. They used very simple principles of solving the problem of sturdy and foldable. A nice truss design along with strong materials gives this desk its sturdy strength in a minimalist design. Bravo Origami!
