Amazon Basics Stainless Steel Kettle with Temperature Control, 1.5L, Black

Before purchasing this AmazonBasics kettle I purchased this cheaper one which I immediately returned: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087DZRTCG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 That kettle was super cheap feeling and just not what I was looking for. For a few more dollars I am extremely happy with the AmazonBasics kettle with temperature control. Pros: - warming feature is great for setting the kettle and then coming back to it later - 100% steel inside, even on the bottom of the lid and in the spout, no plastic touches the water - love the temperature ranges - very sturdy, the spout isn't just glued on like some kettles Cons: - lid does not open at 90 degree angle - beeping noises can't be turned off and it beeps a lot - can't change from F to C (we'd like to read in Celsius but we'll survive!) - 1.5L instead of 1.7L, smaller than many kettles and we do note the difference, especially when filling up a thermos Overall very happy with my purchase - I definitely recommend this electric kettle!

I bought this kettle to replace a 3+ year-old Krups electric kettle whose temperature sensor had died. I've had it a couple of months now and it's great so far. Easy to use and slightly smaller than my previous kettle, it is big enough to heat water for multiple mugs of tea or hot chocolate OR to boil water for pasta. There are 3 features that others might find annoying (they don't negatively impact me but everyone is different). (1) Unless you want to boil water at 212 degrees F, you have to select the desired water temperature each time you use the kettle. (2) Although it has a "warmer" function designed to keep water warm for up to 30 minutes, it doesn't seem to work all that well. (3) The kettle beeps 5 times when the desired water temperature is reached. There does not appear to be a way to disable this. That being said, I've been extrememly pleased with this kettle and would recommend it highly - especially for the price.

I bought this Feb 2020 and used it daily, usually more than once per day. Its been very good up until a couple days ago, so it made it almost 2 years. The temp sensor seems to have gone bad, as now the kettle turns itself off when it hits about 150, no matter the setting is. Then the display goes blank until it cools off. It also makes a much louder 'pop' noise when it cuts off at that low temp, compared to the way it used to operate. So I think I'll just get another one and hope it lasts longer next time. The double-wall cool touch feature is nice, and helps keeps the water hot longer (when the kettle is working, of course). And I like that the interior is just metal, no plastic -- except the for the lid. This kettle would be even better if the lid were metal too, and I'd glad pay more for a kettle that truly had no plastic on it. Most of the competitor kettles have plastic on the insides, which rules them out.

I absolutely love this kettle. I was replacing my glass one and was looking for a good value. This is it! My husband likes his tea at full boiling and I like mine a little less hot. You can change the temperature or just hit stop before it hits boiling. It is great, easy to clean and quick to heat. I was very impressed and especially at this price. Yay for Amazon on this one!

Great electric kettle! You’re able to select the temperature you would like the water to be. Quick to boil. Whoever said a watched pot, boilth not, clearly never used this kettle. Very easy to use! Design-wise, this kettle is very sleek. The material is very durable. Seems it could last generations—move over grandma’s fine bone china. The handle is large and easy to grip, even when the kettle is filled with water. Huge capacity. Highly recommend.

I bought this for the temp control. We do French press coffee and both traditional and herbal teas and temperature control makes it all easier. Auto shut-off if there is not water in it and the fact that all of the outside surfaces are safe to touch, not hot, are both excellent features. Perfect gadget, reasonable cost and makes my life easier. I will admit that I am not crazy about the lid. Doesn't always open as easy as it should and wish it opened wider. You have to press and release the button just so or it might hang up on ya. Because of the lid, I would give this 4.75 stars if it were possible.

I really love this kettle. I ordered like 5 different ones before finally giving this one a try and I’m so glad I did! It heats up the water super quick, Love that the interior in totally stainless steel, and It looks better then the other electric kettles with stainless steel interiors in my opinion. I haven’t had any rust issues. We only use water filtered by our Berkey water filter and I think that makes a difference. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and wish I would of bought this way sooner.

It heats up fast and seems to get to the right temperature. I like the adjustable temperature control, since some things, certain teas for example, have suggested temperatures for steeping that are below boiling. My only complaint is that it is bigger than what I need. I wish someone would make one of these in a 16 ounce size, but I have not seen one like that.

Very good, price/quality is excellent Some welcomed safety/quality of life features that it comes with : - There is a bip sound to tell you it's ready which I love because I always forget I boiled water. - It won't turn on when there is no water so no burning the empty kettle (or your house) - Temperature selection (Amazing because teas all have different temperature requirements) No cons for me !

Love this kettle, but after a month started to see rust spots inside bottom of kettle. It's been about two months and rust is feeling worst. A real shame because this kettle looks and works so well. I will not purchase again because of rust.

I was pleasantly surprised at just how good a kettle this is. It is really well built and has some great features. The temperature control allows me to get the right temperature for my French Press. And I use the temperature hold feature more often than I thought I would. All and all a great kettle for a great price.

Does what it's supposed to do really well. Temp control is a game changer. Great purchase at a great price.

La meilleure que j’ai eu a date... ressemble beaucoup à la Breville mais en moins chère. L’intérieur est parfait pour un entretien facile. Pas de rouille!!
