Is there a difference between the one with headphones and the standard version other than one comes with headphones and one doesn’t?

No difference at all it’s same detector. It’s way cheaper to buy it as a bundle. Buy it with headphones or you will regret it soon as I did.

Can you use with any wireless headphones?

I read somewhere that most makes of wireless headphones will work with the Makro simplex, i would hardly think they would limit it to their own brand,

I never received a charger is this normal ?

Yes it is normal. Any usb charger will work 2 amps or over. Or a laptop etc will charge it.

is the simplex ok with salt water.

It can be used on the beach, but it is only a single frequency, so you will get some 'noise' from salt water. Reducing the sensitivity can help with this, the side effect being loss of depth. If you specifically need salt water performance, I would recommend a multi-frequency detector. The Minelab Vanquish Series is a similar price range to the Simplex+, but has excellent beach performance. The downside being, only the coil is waterproof, so it can only be used in shallow surf, it can't be fully submerged. The Minelab Equinox Series has even better performance and is submersible, though comes at a higher price than Vanquish and Simplex.
